oh ..i c...yes, when i shift to left i saw DS..this is the sport mode. ok i understand now..thanks again rookie.

Drive slow slow ya..... dun go so fast.... hehehe.... :)

Thanks guys for the warm welcome :)

I've been using 32psi for the front and 36psi for the back....
Car came with 33psi in front and 30 for the rears - felt a bit wobbly at low speeds.
Much more confident with the current setting now, but still now sure if I've got too much air in there.

BTW, Happy New Year everyone :)

Go for 32 psi for front and 35 psi for rear
David - I have found 32/35psi to be quite unbearable on the runflats and have since resorted to 28/30psi only  ..... and I still find the ride jiggly at best!! I will be changing to normal tyres in the next couple of weeks.

Well they say one man's meat is another man's poison. I find the ride better with the 32/35 psi. At first I felt the ride a little harsh but now after 3 mths I really don't notice it anymore.

Agree that at 32/35 the handling is slightly better, more sure footed.

Equalizer, please keep us posted once you have changed to non run flats, heard mix inputs so really curious to see how it fares here in Msia with our tires.

DS mode is really fun :)

not too far from your settings now, just an extra psi for the rears.
have not tried the DS mode thus far - still running in the car :p

R u going to get a space saver, since u r going to be running around without RFTs?

Hi guys, I find my ride is also very hard on runflats, any one know if I lower the tyres pressure, will it trigger the sensor? or the sensor is triggered when there are inbalance of pressure between left & right tyres....

I am using 32/36 on my puny 320i. It's quite bumpy and I can bear with it.

I don't think there is any space in the boot for a space-saver. Best is to get those puncture repair kits.

Devilkl, lowering your pressure will only decrease the life of your tyres. Run-flats are hard, made worse on our "world-class" roads. I believe the only remedy is to change to non-run flat tyres.

Devil,

Each time you pump air into your tires (or reduce in this case) you will need to reinitialise your tires. Start your car, at stand still go through your OBC and look for INIT. Press once to select it another to set it. All will be ok. But like they say the too low tire pressure, your tires will wear faster esp the edges.

As for me will try and keep the run flats for as long as I can, then see how the tire tech is by end of this year to decide whether to chg to non RFT or stick with them. For now I am ok with the RFT in terms of it's ride, noise and handling. Only thing I don't like is the......$$$$$$ :(

Have been running the engine harder lately but have not rev to the limit yet. I just love the subtle sporty engine note each time it reaches 5000 rpm :D

Enjoy yr rides, drive safely!

A|an - no, I will be using a repair kit instead, as the boot is already quite small .....

U r so right about the boot space. Even my Proton Putra has more space, not to mention it comes with a spare tire too, lol.

How much are those....mobility kits?

R u driving a 325i?
How long did u run it in for?

I had read somewhere that a kit costs a couple of hundred ringgit - perhaps it is just an aerosol thingy??

Sigh.... y did the Germans left out the spare :(

Was a bit unsettled with the whole RFT at first, but after speaking to my SA about the RFT issue and not having a spare and all..... I begun to realise the safety aspect to it and am quite happy to drive around knowing that I dun have a spare and could always rely on my RFTs when the need arises (touchwood, being hopeful I would never get a puncture). Also my realisation didnt suddenly just come to me, it was you guys who helped me have my confidence. Countless of hours spent reading old treads bout RFTs in this forum before I picked up the car. Thank u guys for that :) the info bits.....

As for the ride harshness, am ok with it, considering the fact that I had full coilovers on the ol Putra..... the ride on the Bimmer is already a bliss ;)

I personally would not feel safe if I'm running on non-RTFs.
Countless times with my previous cars I had to pull over the road shoulder, swith the hazard lights on, get down from the car, take the tools out, take the spare out, jack the car, change the flat.... blah blah blah....
But I always pat my self that I had a spare.

But now..... dont need to go through such hassle anymore.... I hope :)

Btw, if I were to change from my 17" to an after market rim.... say 18" or 19", could I still go the RFT way?

BTW, has anyone got any clue on how to leave the air re-circulation switch to full time? Getting fed up as each time I start my car (after I leave it for long hours) I would have to manually press it on via the steering or from the air-cond panel.

What i heard was it can be programmed. Check it out with AB. If not, you can check with some of our forummers here who may have contact with one of the BMW specialist in PJ or Subang who can do such programming.

Of course you can still get 18" or 19" RFT tires out there. But you will be surprise with the price. If I am not mistaken, it is about RM 2,000 to RM 2,500 per piece!

RFT was invented for road safety, this was informed by the AB services manager. it was even worst [ i mean the ride] when it was launch sometimes 2 years back. the latest RFT is better now n hopefully it will improve further by next year lah.
as far as i m concerned..oredi get used to the hardness, noice.......... so the service manager has advised me to better stay put with the RFT lah...safety mah..right.:)
