Heya danc,

Welcome back to the fold! I don't think you'll regret this decision. I definitely haven't. Just waiting for the car to run in, then it's goodbye fuel economy, hello high-speed fun!

Hi Everyone,

Guess what I am baaackkk!

Good decision danc! While the Mercs are undoubtedly good cars, the present C is in its final model year and the E is for quiet cruising, not tearing around like you have too much testosterone :)

It goes to show that you can put your foot down with AB too. Enjoy your ride when it comes!

Hi Everyone,

Guess what I am baaackkk! When to try the Merc wasn't very impress with the handling but the ride is just superb. So was contemplating the purchase, guess what, AB called me Wed and noted my "displeasure" and said that they will meet my needs and thus change what was necessary. ........ The manager called to assure me that everything in the car will be warrantied and my SA showed me the invoice which AB bills BM on parts changed, so I know exactly what was and was not done. But my SA said she couldn't give me the invoice.

Danc...welcome back. Glad to have you on the list :D I knew you'd come back, that's why I was hesitant to remove you from the list... lol

Anyways, as nice as the W203 is, you quickly figure out how much nicer the E90 is to drive just about the time you enter your first real corner :D It just feels better...that's why I ponied up for the E90.

Very happy to see that BMW AB stepped up. As mentioned, the onus was on them to earn your business and it looks like they made amends. Wrt to invoice, I've never seen these internal documentation but these invoices are tied to the service order/write-up which your SA is able to furnish and should've done so. This is part of your service history.

Now make sure everything else is kosher and pick up that car!! Btw good call on the color choice ;)

how about you schwepps...... are you gonna continue to adopt the "wait n see" strategy ??

we are waiting for the day that you tell us ..... "guys.... I got myself an e90 finally".....

hello all , getting the car this Sat frm AB glenmarie :D
any of u did any engine mods to ur e90s yet?
does installing say a K&N filter in voids the warranty?

nice to know there's so many of us on the road :D 20 something is a lot ok for such a rare car at the moment :D

went with the silver coz being the lazy tit that i am , :D 2weeks once can wash car la :D . and damn 320i rims are hideous .. :(

A warm welcome to you!! Congrats on your new car delivery!

Well the E90 is still relatively new as such there isn't a healthy catalogue of engine mods available out there especially for gasoline engines. From what I know, there are various intakes (results/improvements not verified/validated), cat-back exhaust solutions and they are still working on various ECU flash/chips products. That's all I've read about on engine mods.

I am doing the K&N drop-in filter thing, hopefully this weekend. Our filters are different, we use the flat-panel assembly here in the US while you guys have the cylindrical filter arrangement. (DIY: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4101)
The jury's still out on how much power/difference is attained with this mod, folks have reported a louder (more pleasant) intake sound and some have noted slightly improved response and fuel economy. We'll see. As far as I know, the K&N filter will not void warranty but if you're concerned you can always swap filters prior to bringing the car in for service. The filter swap will not register an error code.

Good call on TiAg is a great low-maintenance color. Can't say much about your wheels (type 154) right? I have puny 16" 156's myself *sigh*. All the other high rollers here are riding on 17" 161s and 159s :D

He's waiting for the day they offer a proper 6MT option on the 325i lol

Mr. Schwepps, after learning about the accessories available by BMW AB, it is entirely possible to build one E90 to your tastes. There is the M-tech body kit (at 10k installed) and the M-sport suspension package (at 3,800 installed). You can even save minimum 20% if you take your business down south. But there is still the issue of the MT though....:D

Hahaha! Don't worry David, I'll get there. Just not in a car buying mood at the moment but when the itch comes, it'll be an e90 (unless something else distracts me) :p

Sorry, brain in 1st gear. What's MT Donny?

Mr. Schwepps...I was referring to the 6 speed Manual Transmission we've talked about before....your input on how to make the 325i offering more attractive to enthusiasts in Malaysia. :D That and the sport suspension and M-tech body kit.

We're just about 2 out of 3 from your ideal set-up....so do we have a sale, Mr. Schwepps? :D

OIC. I didn't say I wanted a manual! :) I'd have to go back to driving school first :p

Patience, guys! The urge will well up and I'll pull the trigger sooner or later and join you testosterone addicts (picture David at 220 kmh :D )

Yeah.... I was on 220kmph to 230kmph from Singapore back KL few days ago. It is so nice.....

Guys,
my meter clocked 400km only but my body & soul are very itchy already to test the true power of my 325i....how long more I need to run-in my car?

With the new technology of our e90 engine, i dun think so u need to wait for run-in. Just do it now. I started immediately when my car reaches 1,000 km.

Wrt break-in...I waited until the prescribed 1,200 mile mark and then I let her rip :D I think half the mileage would've been fine, modern day engines with their tighter manufacturing tolerance need minimal break-in time. That's more for the other running gear....besides the jury's still out over hard break-in vs gentle break-in.

having said that, the engine really comes alive at the upper RPM with DS mode....
