hi guys
the car is still under running-in and thus have not explored its full potential yet..still not used to heavy steering at low speed and light steering at high speed...

hello everybody,
I've been reading this thread for quite sometimes but yet to interfere untill my car arrived yesterday. Anyway, I've got some questions tho:
1. Where can I get the chrome exhaust tips in kl area?
2. I'm planning to tint my car but not with v-kool (not smart tag friendly), any idea?
3. How to transform my car from standard BMW to a means 325i? :D
Thanks...

Welcome to the E90 club JV88 and megatnh.

Danc, if you are keen on the Mercs, then you may also want to consider that the new C-Class may be launched soon

Hi JV88, if you don't mind the "standard" chrome tips then you can check out AB. I am sure there are aftermarket tips like ACS available.

You want to turn your 325i into a mean machine? Start looking at body kits, rims, lower your car, etc

Congrats and welcome to the team!
In order,
1. The cheapest quote I got was for RM 450 for 2 trims (incl fitting). AB wanted to
charge RM 500 plus fitting. On ebay, you can get them for US 35 each. We are being
screwed by high taxes and hugh profit margins in Malaysia!
2. Like you I didn't go for v-kool because it wasn't smart tag friendly. I went for Huper
Optik instead. I've heard good things about Rike Cool as well. These are good
alternatives to V-Kool.
3. Rims, body kit, suspension. IMHO, dechroming the front grill and window trims would
also look aggressive for a black car.

1. I've asked my sales person in AB, he said its around RM200++ but yet to give me the exact figure for the tips.
2. Where can we find Huper Optik / Rike Cool in KL? Can u give me the shop name? How much?
3. Any recommended brand for lowered suspension? The black front grill & window trims sure look nice, but where to get it?

Now it seems I'm giving attention to my car more than my wife ard!!:D

1. That's about right (one for 320 and two for 325)
2. Huper Optik / Rike Cool are both ceramic based films rather than metallized whatever so they don't interfere with smart tags. The downside is it isn't as efficient as VK (not very noticible though IMHO). My HU tint package (standard) cost me 2100. RK was cheaper at 1800. Both also do a thicker security film tint that costs 2500.
In the end, I went for ceramic films because I wanted it to work with my smart tag. I chose HU because they've been in Malaysia for 5+ years, RK just recently changed hands and I wasn't sure if their future would be secure (for warranty claims). Plus, just checking on the net, the company appears to be bringing in generic film from Japan. Contrasts to VK and HU both well known international brands. (Maybe I'm just a snob tho', so discount RK based on that)
No problems atm with my film. Everything was arranged by my SA at AB two days before handover of my car.
3. Seen them advertised on-line by some shops in Singapore. Try this link

You could PM him to see if he has some more. Happy hunting!:D

Thanks pkw88 for the brief explanations. Anyway, where u did the tinted for your car? Kind to give me the address of the shop? Thanks again.

At work atm (well physically at work, just not working :D ), will have to look up the receipt later tonight. Shop is in Sri Hartamas behind Gym/Fitness nearer the Bomba. Can't even remember the name of shop. So sorry. Will check tonight!

rookie, the silver E90 you have for avatar looks really cool. Is that Breyton body kit and rims? Like the rims too, simple and elegant.

What kind of rims you guys have if you dun mind sharing.

hey e90 owners...spotted this pimped out e90 at D'sara uptwon area...white color with full AC kit..including rims....number plate W* 36 .... not sure if he's a fellow forumer..but thats one heck of a ride man....

Wow the thread's gone busy... :)

Anyways, a warm e90 welcome to JV88 and megatnh

JV88: The e90 looks awesome with a good drop. If budget permits, I'd go with full coil-overs. A good proven set is KW Variant 1 (2 & 3 is too agressive). For springs I'd go with H&R Sport springs (about 1.6" drop). You can pair up those springs with Koni FSDs. H&R rear sway bars are always a good idea (tricky install though, because of the subframe). Depending on wheels a good 12mm-15mm rear spacers is also recommended.

There are a lot of cheap replica bodykitsavailable from taiwan and indonesia. In some case they are better than the original due to more flexible materials (originals are often in FG). Full 6pc ACS kits painted and shipped are about USD800 from Taiwan. You can get a full Breyton lip (ready to paint) from Indonesia for USD130 and I think it was about USD450 for the full 4pc set. They have shipped succesfully to Singapore (you might want to consider that).

Here, check with these folks (based in Indonesia) on:

ACS, Breyton and Hamman replica kits. They do a lot of business with e90post.com. A lot of happy customers. Ask them what would be the best way to ship to you.

Setback E90

Hi, guys

was out of town with my E90 for the pass 2 days. experience the trill of handling the E90 but there were some setback would like to share.

The car was very bumpy when travelling at 160 km/h. or faster....did anyone experience the same? Is it cause by the old one year old tyre? Mt daugther was having a headache due this. :(

to KL2DC - yes , i dont know where they got the roundel but they just stick it to my fob. sound funny huh.....

beside the car issue..........as i m a novice in computer.....can anyone teach me how to insert photo in this message..kah... TQ.

fayehong: Actually my experiences have been the opposite..I thought the E90 is bumpier at low speeds (because of the hard sidewalls of the RFTs) and smoothens out at higher speed to a point that (without the ZSP calibrations) its a touch floaty in undulations and bumps.

I have a suggestion, go out to your car and look in your wheel well, where your shock assembly is. I want you to look out if PDI had removed the shipping/transport blocks from the shocks. If they haven't, take it back immediately. If that is not the case, perhaps you'd need to break in the shocks a little longer, I cannot imagine how this car would ride so bumpily, enough to give your daughter a headache. I know the E90 rides a little firmer than a benz or volvo but not that firm, especially without the sport suspension.

When in doubt, take the matter up with your SA.

The easiest way to post pics....

1) Resize pics to 800x600 or 640x480 (recommended)
2) Open up a free account with www.photobucket.com
3) Upload your pics to your online account.
4) When typing your post, insert image by using the "img" tags (see circled)

5) Let others enjoy your pics with you :)

The Huper Optik dealer is Smart Window SB, No 15-F & 15-1, Jalan Perubatan 2, Pandan Indah, 55100 KL (Tel - 03-4280 9049). As I mentioned earlier they do have a branch in Sri Hartamas.

Contact details for Rike Kool can be found on the net at http://www.rikecool.com/beta/contact.htm

Good hunting
