Or don't tell me they were BS-ing all along when they said they were changing the rubber parts on the Port Klang CBUs??

You may hv a point Schwepps. I am not too worried about aother stuff becoz they are covered under warranty (except of course the hassle that comes with it) but tyres are safety critical and they explicitly not covered by warranty nor the 60,000 km free service.

In my case though, the person inchrge of PDI (who I happened to know personally) confirmed that the tyres have been changed. And visually they looked OK.

Will definitely ask the question again when I bring my car in for 10k service:confused: .

Cheers

My CBU battery died at 6 months and timing belt snapped at 12 months! Thankfully it was still under warranty or it would have cost me RM20k. Then the gear shift linkage came undone at about 2 years. It's a fallacy to think that CBUs are better quality.

I wouldn't want a CBU that was built more than a year ago and has been sitting in the sun and salty air in the port since February anyway. Besides the rubbers, God knows the condition of the wiring looms and electronics. Get a freshly assembled CKD. The E90 is worth it inspite of the shoddy treatment from AB.

Good for you then. If your friend is kosher, then ask him why they change for some and not others

Precisely my thoughts ..... ;)

But that's purely my personal feeling about those particular CBUs. At the end of the day, everything can be fixed, the cars are still good cars, and the prices are good value for CBUs. I'm just making a point to Danc that he should take a look at the CKDs and not give up on the E90

Yeah, Danc....don't discount the E90 quite yet. BMW AB didn't give you a fair shake and you had every right to walk out of that CBU deal. I would too...like I said if they're not making an effort to win your business then so be it. I can't stand bad service. In fact, I'd write your experience to BMW upper management, the papers etc. just for the principle of it.

I agree with Mr. Schwepps, Equalizer and Macheet. The CKD and CBU should be comparable in assembly quality etc. Check out the CKD.

Wow noticed quite a number of 325i listed here....

KL2DC the shine on your car is awesome.

Just asking has anyone added chrome tips to the exhaust? Where do you get them in Malaysia and how much? Just wonder how come BMW, being a prestige brand give us those kind of exhaust tips. really cheap looking man!

Danc,

The chrome exhaust tip part # 82 12 0 398 334 and the price is RM 474.80. You can get it at AB.

Just called up my SA from AB and asked him to change my color from Monaco Blue to Titanium Silver :D .......hope to get my ultimate driving machine soon.........:D

Very good and smart choise to choose TiAg as this is the most easiest color to maintain and it's lasting no matter how long it is. In my opinion, it's good to have light color especially for small size car. TiAg makes e90 looks bigger in size as compared to other colors :)

shucksE90: Actually, BMW does their blacks well. It should be their signature color. If you look at their flat black (jet black) in person, you can see their black is blacker than most other blacks.

Black looks best when freshly washed and waxed....too bad that doesn't last long :D

I am surprised sparkling graphite metallic is not as popular (at least in this forum). Its their brochure cover car for crying out loud :D Ok that sounded personal...

If I were to buy an E92 335i, it would have to be the E92 specific Space Grey with Coral Red interior and Grey Poplar wood or Brushed aluminum trim

CKD or CBU?

E90ers,

Thanks for all the kind words. Yes I have backed out of the deal and the Cycle & Carriage guy is hounding me every other day with very good offers for their C230K and E200K (savings of RM 30K to 40K). I am tempted .... so will go check them out. As for now I will not look even at CKD, the way AB has manage this I am not impressed and therefore will not look at BMs. As they say car ownership is more than just the car, it's also how it is supported right?

For now please remove my name from the list.... Thank you
