August Drive suggestion - Tasik Banding/Grik and vicinity

I have heard alot of great things about the serenity of this place and not to mention that the drive out there is simply superb.So I thot, let's gather sufficient quorom and take a drive down to Banding and its vicinity. Suggestion as follows, available in 2 options.Option 1Date: 12, 13 and 14 August 2011Where to stay: Belum Resort. Here's a link http://www.belumresort.com/Option 2Date: 13th August 2011Plan: Endurance drive as follows: -Route: Gombak to Temerloh via Karak/East Coast highway stop for breakie in Temerloh. Termerloh to Kuala Lipis. Kuala Lipis to Gua Musang. Stop for lunch Gua Musang. Gua Musang to Jeli then to Grik, ending up in Tasik Banding. Stop in Banding for tea/rest/relax. Banding head to Penang mainland for makan around BM area. Hit highway back to KL......Phew, what an awesome drive this will be.....Personally, I prefer option 2, but then again the beauty of a democracy is that we go with the majority. So get your thoughts down. I would also like to hear the ultimate route suggestions.....Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier......

Option 2 ... but after Grik, head up to Pengkalan Hulu, shopping and Makan in Betong. Beers in Club after lunch .... then take Baling - Kulim Highway

Option 3 .... After Grik head down toward Lawin and to Lenggong, buy chilli sauce then to K. Kangsar, from there to Pantai Remis, Have seafood, then head back to KL via K. Selangor Road.

For those who have never been to Belum and/or Belum Rainforest Resort...its great for some good family outdoor activities... the boat trips to the native village (can buy good native used Tongkat Ali type herbs), jungle treks (even have nite jungle trekking), the Rafflesia hikes, the salt licks where the animals get their salt intake and the Hornbills....amazing place...imagine, its 4x the size of Singapura.... Resort rooms are excellent. Worth it for a good family trip....

P.S. I have no personal interest financial or otherwise direct or otherwise to this resort...hahahaha
