Condolence to the family and friends ... Al-Fatihah

This is very sad and extremely disturbing knowing that the whole family is wiped out inthat accident ... God bless their souls.

Please guys if you're bringing your whole family for a trip please make sure the safety of your family comes first. If you're feeling sleepy stop the car at the nearest R&R and have a rest or a small nap, drive at a reasonable pace, always keep your distance and do a simple check up of your before each journey (tire pressure, visual inspection of your tire and brake pads, brake fluid and etc ...

Possibly so. Engine was dislodged upon impact from its mounts and was found 50m away from the main wreck. Really high speed impact.

My God....that's just terrible...

Notice most of the accidents happens at night and involves parked lorry at road shoulder. I've to say sometimes while driving even during the day and if you're in the most left lane and there's a slight bend in front, the car will not actually track in the center of that particular lane while approaching the bend, rather (depending on your steering effort) the car may just track slowly towards the outer of the bend thus requiring you to input more steering control to center the car in that lane along the bend.

Now if you're coming at speed and approaching that bend at night and just right at the edge of the bend there's a parked lorry with no lights nothing on, and the car will even track faster towards the outer of the bend if your response is slow and you'll just never know...

Its happened in Sabah la. Not Seremban.

RIP to those who perished..

What can i say.. at higher speeds any cars can become a time bomb...theres one forummer even posted that on a BMW the passenger/driver cannot die and i was just laughing thinking how stupid he is.....nothing worth more then our life and loved ones..

The Star reported it to be a BMW 5 series in today's paper. If it was, judging from the size of the brakes, it could well have been an E60 M5 instead.

19' 225m wheels. Wonder if the top was down during the crash. Perhaps a coupe or sedan would have fared better in rollovers, from the curtain airbags.. From the pics, the front "A" pillar totally collapsed in the rollover which would have resulted in severe head injuries to the passengers. The automatic rear rolloverbars should have popped up, and hence the car sits slightly tilted forward. Perhaps the sole surviving passenger was seated in the rear.

Condolences to the victims. =(

Though I read another story of a 5 series involved in a crash with a lorry, with 6 people killed inside. Also happened very recently, anyone heard of it?

Dont drive so fast. These cars are capable of high speeds but most drivers are not equipt with the necessary skills to handle 'nasty' situations and or drive defensively. If you want to drive fast fast, then go to the track.

Accidents are bound to happen but lets keep them from 'us' being the cause and if we check our speed, engines cant possibly dislodge itself and fly 50 meters away..Yes, there will be the unfortunate situation where one is the innocent victim of other heartless roadusers but thats not within our control....its fate.

Condolences to the families, and RIP to the victims.
I personally knew some of them. They were great kids.
All of them has their safety belts on when the crash happenned. Is just a bad crash.

I think it's the Bimmer Ghost thingy. Let's admit this - Anyone who drives a bimmer will surely drive very fast regardless if the person have big or small ego. The recent Kulim drive was a living proof. Anyone drives at 110km/hr all the way? Everyone has his/her own reasons to drive fast. More often than not, sh*t happens not at 200km/hr but at 110km/hr. I personally like to drive very fast, but when there's opportunity. I won't go and flash all the cars in front of me as if the road belongs to me. Some people drive at 110km/hr religiously. So, we have to respect that. Driving fast keeps me alert all the time. Driving fast at night is a different story. Sometimes our eyes can play tricks on us. Must consider this also. On a straight road near Senawang, I don't think the guy was sleepy if he drove very fast. It's either a burst tyre or he must have been trying to avoid 'something'.

The again, the car only comes with 5 seatbelts. Likely the 2 year old was not belted in unless in a child seat, which meant one of the other kids was not belted. Regardless, it didn't matter due to the massive impact and fire.

Are you able to confirm if the car was indeed an M5?

My heart goes to the family. Be it families, friends or even people I personally dont know :dontknow: , (accident) death will always have an impact in me and make me feel very sad deep inside :frown: but to add to your comments funfer ..... I honestly believe that the drive had fallen asleep.

The deceased has been travelling the whole time from Bkt Merah and most probably without any break and when it happened (at 1.30am) it was just a very bad crash ..... :(:(:(

My prayers and condolence to all concern. I will travel to Melaka this weekend and hopefully I will be able to attend the doa selamat arranged by the next of kin for the family.

Sleepiness is usually the cause of highway crashes, especially crashes into trailers parked in the emergency lane. On a long drive, the brain goes from beta waves (alert) to alpha waves (relaxed) to theta waves (first stage of sleep) Eyelids get heavy and half close. Haven't we all felt it before - drifting into sleep for a micro-second? Happens most when driving in the after-lunch period and wee hours of the night.

This drift from alpha to theta to alpha brain activity is the time when the brain is driving by focusing on a reference point, eg the lights of the vehicle ahead, not on the road surface. It drives you toward the lights, and you're not awake enough to realise that the vehicle ahead is parked in the emergency lane. This kind of accidents happen often, and mostly at night.
