i think BMW cars are too stable... giving many drivers the false sense of speed and security. maybe we need to adjust our speedo so it show higher speeds. bottom line is... drive carefully n within speed limits (hmmm... cant believe i'm sayin this)

another thing if u noticed... both accidents happened at around midnight... 12:30am and 1:30am. guess it may also have to do with driver fatigue

But isn't our analog speedo is already factory tweaked to show higher speed of around 3-4% more....or so i read somewhere.
I did a test to find out myself and it's true. The digital reading shows lower speed. Below 110km/h both teles. It's only after 110 Km/h that's when the analog differs to the digital.

The cars are being built to go faster and faster.. The need for speed is not going to stop.
The issue is whether the owner/driver knows how to control the vehicle...

Guys, cars slamming into stationary trailers parked on the emergency lane after midnight happens a lot, and to any kind of car. It's caused by highway monotony and fatigue. A bored, sleepy driver sees the red lights or reflectors of the parked trailer, and the tired mind thinks that the trailer is still on the move. Like a firefly drawn to lights, the mind subconsciously drives towards the lights.

The other type of after midnight accidents is usually due to hot-dogging on nearly empty roads with a powerful car, which is made worse if fueled by alcohol. I've driven home from partying before, and realised the next day that I have no recollection of how I got home. Scary. Has this happened to you before?

not very often, but it does happen, and i would say im not proud of it, but i try to bring it as slow as possible, so if really involve in accident, not serious

dun even know how the hell i end up naked on the bed, and still all the doors were locked and alarm was armed b4 i slept

Don't drink and drive... At least have a couple of hot drinks to sober up before driving home...

yes, fabian....

make myself sober b4 driving, or sleep in car, but then again, in jaybee , sleep in car sure mati...

Founder of Fadhilat Herbs, his family killed in fiery crash (Update 2)

SEREMBAN: A Malacca entrepreneur, the founder of Fadhilat Herbs Sdn Bhd, and his entire family were burnt to death after the car they were travelling in was involved in an accident at KM252 of the North-South Expressway, near the Senawang Toll Plaza, at about 1.30am on Monday.

Suhaimi Ghazali, 41, his wife Fadhillah Isnin, 31 and their children Nor Natashahuda 11, Mohd Daniel, 10, and Mohd Hanif Iman and Adi Putra, both two years old, were on their way back to their home in Teluk Mas in Malacca after holidaying at the Bukit Merah Lake Resort.

Police at first could not determine the identify of the six charred remains of the victims as their bodies and the car had been completely burnt beyond recognition, Bernama reported. The remains were later sent to the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban for a post-mortem.

According to a police spokesman, the six were trapped inside the ill-fated car that was believed to have lost control and crashed into a lorry that was parked on the shoulder of the expressway.

The impact of the accident and the explosion had resulted in the engine of the car being blown about 50m away from the scene of the accident and was found in a drain, Bernama said.

“The car may have been driven fast and lost control before hitting the parked lorry, a trailer, that was laden with goods believed to be granite powder. The lorry had broken down since Sunday afternoon,” he told reporters at the scene.

A witness, Rashid Razali, 38, who lives in Taman Seremban Selatan about 150m from the expressway, said he was washing his car when he heard a loud explosion.

“After the explosion, I saw fire. I and a few neighbours rushed to the expressway to investigate and saw a smoking engine,” he said, according to Bernama.

“We tried to get closer to the burning car but moved back when there was a second explosion from the wrecked car. The fire was very intense and the car was a total wreck due to the impact,” he said.

Firemen from the Seremban 2 and Senawang Fire and Rescue Department, who arrived in three fire engines, took about three hours to extricate the bodies, after using a crane to lift the trailer.

What a sad and horrible way to go. I hope the kids were all asleep, knocked out instantly, and didn't know a thing. :(

The whole trouble is, there are several levels of intoxication --

Drunk: You feel more macho and daring than normal, especially if some idiot tiongs you, and you drive home like Alonso.
Very drunk: You feel still in control, but the next day you seriously can't remember which way you drove home, and how you wound up in bed.
Wiped out: You know you can't drive and just sleep in the car or get in a cab, and hope you don't get mugged, but are too far gone to care anyway.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been at all 3 levels many times in my younger past. :stupid:

Stage 2 is pretty frequent for me... only been to stage 3 once not long ago and glad I wasn't driving..

Wonder which bimmer it was. BIG and lovely wheels + brakes tho from the pics. Perhaps an X5 or X6?

errrr....where is the car la...only can see one wheel...

A PG car....? Hope it wasn't an E66 735Li bearing the licence 8780.

There were only two in Penang. Now there's just one on the road. In an impact of this magnitude, no car would have been fared better, I think.
