the whole driver learning education and test system is corrupt and outdated. Enforcement is slack/inconsistent on illegal/bad drivers especially bus/truck drivers. Safety awareness is extremely low (blame it on the gomen). Look also at some of our road designs. Notice also how some signage are so tiny that by the time u see it, you are past the turning? See how many drivers turn on their hazard lights each time it rains heavily?
bad lighting, bad drainage, the list goes on. There should be a demerit system, cameras etc to force the drivers to comply with the regulations. The traffic cops seem to be underhanded and/or unwilling to enforce the law. In fact, some of them break the laws themselves!! We have a long way to go.
RIP to the victims.

From the photo of yesterday Nanyang Siang Pau, it's more likely a Montego Blue or Le Mans Blue 335i cabriolet.....

Speed kill, drive responsibly.........

dont have to be 100kmh...in collision incompatibility, 60kmh or less could have been critical already...means that even if the bus moves at 30kmh and the car is also cruising at 30kmh in opposite...the effective collision speed is equivalent to 60kmh when hitting a stationary target...in this case you do not have to be driving at reckless speed but just one driver error is enough to cause this catastropic event...

waa... your forensics very good la...
are you sure you are not on the police force ? :listen:

in 30km/h not much damage la.. most to the NCAP test are done around 50 to 60kp/h..

Cempaka was right. It was a rollover, both car and bus flipped. Car turned turtle and bus on its side.

Based on the report, it was indeed a 335i vert.

Always hear of people bragging of top speed, but what i wonder is, what matters most iis not how u get there (max speed). obviously high powered engines will get you the speed and performance you want, but its whether you can sustain that speed for simple 10 seconds or less that matters, and are your reflexes quick enough to respond.

Just my 2 cents..

Condolences to the ones who suffer the most..

Since there was rollover, it's more likely to have been a 'frontal offset' collision (driver's side on driver's side) That would yaw both vehicles clockwise. If both have low forward momentum, they'll screech to a halt. If forward momentum is greater, a roll will start. If a vehicle is travelling at high speed, a barrel roll will result.

Frontal offsets are the most common frontal collisions, and usually the driver's legs will be crushed and trapped under the collapsed engine compartment and dash. These will be cut away to release him.

god has been taking young lives these days ...just lost one family member last week in LDP car crash and now seeing some very young doctors queing up in heaven ...

enjoy life while we can ...drive safely

RIP and condolence to the family ...

Not referring to this sad incident, but sometimes the car is capable but the driver isn't. I seriously doubt that I am capable of taking my car to the limits at high speeds, so I am content to enjoy the acceleration and handling within the limits of my ability. The BMW Driver Training experience showed that my car can go faster and take corners far harder than I have ever done, but I don't have the proper training or experience to match that of the instructors so I restrict myself to what I know I am capable of. It's enough for me.

Drive safely all... the roads will be busy in the next few weeks with balik kampung traffic.

Also, you and your car may be capable, but the guy in the other vehicle isn't, or is sleepy, or drunk, etc.

below was the earlier published report. not sure why they removed the word BMW later:

"According to a police spokesman, the six were trapped inside the ill-fated car that was believed to have lost control and crashed into a lorry that was parked on the shoulder of the expressway."

What has come to BMW nowdays???? :(

RIP to those who've lost their lives....

But why BMW? Why? Why has it to be a reckless (if it was) driver behind the wheel of a BMW? Reckless be it drunk, sleepy, driving in anger after quarrel with wifey etc....

RIP,

For those travelling in the coming days, please have your cars serviced and with the increase of traffic... be extra careful.
