why so dramatic....

just service whenever you feel like it...
whether its mileage 10k, 15k, 17.5555k or 5k rule.
whether its period 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or 15.555months.

Spot on! Its not cast in stone.

My first change was 2000, no reset, this I did on my own for run in, the service indicator requested 11,000 km which was done, after reset it now shows next service after another 13000 km. Mileage now at 12000 km. It depends a lot on driving style. Stop go traffic on the LDP in the morning, and in the evening on the highway hard driving most of the time.

I'm gonna do another in between service without reset.

Not drama. this is consumer rights. and also, if its proven that BMW M doing dirty trick on us, we just swallow it up? where of course, if BMW can confirm long service interval is factory default then just make it clear. but then i will do as i wish. i can do it every 1000km or even next 100000km as per i wish.

a service cost few hunderds only. i think i still can afford. but i dont like if people take us as a fool.

i dont mind the few hundreds. but i wish to know if i will want continue to be a fool or i can opt to diligently to check out the facts.

I am still sceptical about the authenticity of the oils used by some SC although it is still BMW due to the wide variation in OBD service interval noted from this forum. I will post my mileage and suggested service km and my SC name + oil brand used when I get my car. I like to go all out to hunt down crooks :)

Maybe you can request from them the engine oil bottle so that you're aware of what they put into your car's engine. It's so careless of BMW M for allowing dealers to choose whatever engine oil that like (correct me if I'm wrong). Shouldn't BMW M impose stricter rule to this? If we would like to select whatever engine oil we want, we could have them changed in any workshop out there.

Not reprogrammed la. Just resetting the service interval notification message to prompt user when the next service is due. This reset is done every time when you send in your card for servicing. For new car, probably this is set in the factory to the default service interval that applies for all BMW cars worldwide. But the funny thing is everyone has a different service interval??

Yes, this is true. Since they have the computer and software that communicates with our car's OBD, the possibilities are endless.

The SA told me that there is software update for the F30 in progress. Apparently the update should sort out the overly long service durations

SA says a lot of stuff.. but like what i posted earlier.. the software update now shows my car is due for service 13 years ago.. they should probably call it software backdate instead..

Wakaka. Maybe u got the wrong software.

Solution, dun let BMW techs touch our cars.

i got the "magic" software update.. the one that apparently fixes transmission, service counter and bad radio reception issues.. hahahaha.. but in essence fixes nothing..

Bro, I think you should check with the service centre why this is happening? Maybe they loaded the wrong software or older version.

I send for first service, labour+filter+5L lubricants = RM 500+. SA told me free service is about 25,000 KM. Crazy.
