I think he just used up one of his normal BSRI service. You can choose to service your car earlier than the scheduled ones no problem.

Service due

Sa told me, every 20k km, but after march, service under bsri, bmw will service at every 12000km . Confusing

my car has hit 5,000km now and I am keen to send it for service next week...let me know if anyone think this is a bad idea...cheers!

My car service indicator, when I just got it was 25,000 km (Mileage - less than 1000), than it drop to 24,000 (mileage about 2000), than 23,000 ( Mileage above 3K)and now move back to 24,000 km (mileage 5.8K), any idea why? SA said its base on driving style etc etc... but it move backward.

Anyway, I'm going to send in when it reach 8K as the SC recommended.

If you have the money and time, why not.

i am on diesel. the service on the car shows 15k km. they say will follow that

That's the minimum requirement to keep your car running and warranty. If you intend to keep your car for longer term, it's advisable to change your engine oil in between the recommended service intervals to give better protection for your engine from wear and tear.

Yeah, guess would do a interval service. What should be change? Jut the oil or the oil filter too? What other things to look for?

And we can go to any shop outside right?

Engine oil and oil filter. Clean the air filter as well. Check other fluids level as well, the standards things that you would check when at the workshop. Yes you can do it at outside workshop but make sure they don't reset the service interval or else BMW may void your warranty.

Looks like I'm having a similar problem like you bro, but in a different way. My service indicator never drops much, maybe only 1000km after running for 8000km. This is so strange. When I sent my car in for service, they claim its not due for service yet and told me to monitor the indicator. Anyway, they said that the car is due for service when you've clocked around 12k ~ 14k KM. This is from AB. Not sure what about other dealer. Disappointingly, I drove back lo... Wait till car clock around 12k KM only send in for service which I think is still manageable.

Which AB? i was told by AB Glenmerie to send in at 8000 km for first service....

My SA in AB Glemarie told me to stick to the service interval of 25000 km. Are we allowed to do it earlier under BSRI?

how comes the difference is so big. some indicate 25k but some indicate 15k??

They have this BMW LL01 5W-30 Castrol Edge Professional oil but you can't get this outside. So would this oil really can last that long?

Because eveyone drives their car differently mah. Hahahaa
The Castro Edge Pro is a special blend specially formulated for BMW. But it's not magic oil la. for me 10k is about right.

The AB Sg. Besi. Don't know why different dealer is talking different things. Think they are so smart to set all this on their own? BMW Malaysia should smart up and do the right thing. They should set clear guidelines especially on important issues like preventive maintenance.

my f30 is hitting 20k mileage soon. the free service is at 30k.

will be sending in the car for service on my own expense for the 20k.

any advices? what are the normal service includes and approximately the damage?
