Maybe should get the lawyer to draft a letter to state that the if oil sludge occured to the engine as a result of extended oil service interval, BMW is liable to change the engine at their cost.. and get them to sign... ;)

Morning all bross...
Can share what oil grade AB is using now...
IMHO normal semi or fully synthetic oil in our weather condition just can last 10000km-15000km...
But to strech up more till 30000km fheewwwwww...
Burn oil...sludge....contimination...
Dont foget you oil filter...can it last till 30000km?
Just my 2.5cents....

Aku ada stereng lori....ko adaaa....

Maybe the original engine oil that comes with a new BMW engine is specially formulated to last for 30k.

I think this matter have been discussed many many times...
If u seriously trust the engine oil can last >20,000km, go ahead. But I can tell u that if the engine developed oil sludge issue even if still within warranty period, the dealer will not take responsibility even if all services have been done solely at that particular outlet and according to the recommended oil service interval.

Wanna bet?

It will pop ups but another problem arise, the workshop cant do the service coz so many cars come in.its good for everybody to check it from time to time

Yup bro I'm with you hehehe...
Just to share in my early days as a service centre foreman in Kuantan...
During that days remember about the M***l Oil?
They claim can last up to 40000km but the I personally ask the distrubutor what happened if something gone wrong inside the engine?
Can we claim for engine damage from your delership...
The answer is no we dont provided damage claims to engine...
Then I said what the f**k using your oil up to 40000km hahaha...
So same goes in here if any thing happened to your engine like what bro fabianyee said...
Please think twice b4 you yourself got cought at the end of the day...
Just my 2.5cents...cheers...:burnout:

And what about all the other stuff like atf, brake fluid, spark plugs, brake pads?
Have to wait for somethin to pop out to service these as well.I think most of us
are used to the traditional maintenance regime of other car makes whereby we do the
recommended service as per the service booklet. But for our F30 we do not have this, instead its based on
condition based monitoring, all stored in the rides obc, and apparently based on the we handle our car.May sound cost effective but is it reliable? It is also not clear and the explanation varies between different dealers. Confused is what we are at the end of the day.

They confuse us so much to the extent we rather spend money to service on our own...nice move. BMW win and gains from this confusion....:motz:

Exactly the point. Bsri 3 years in the marketing of the car.
But computer adjusted so you will maximum get 2 services in 3 years if lucky.
And then the dealer 'recommend' better service every 15,000km but at your own expenses.
Cunninglingus marketing. Somehow something here smells fishy.

Just for comparison, have the Mazda cx5 that comes with free service at 1000km then every 10,000km for 3 years.
You get about 7 free services in that time truly recommended by Mazda and as how a car should be treated.
