When BMW F30 first service due?

i talked to the SA for this inverval service, they said would be the oil and oil filter change, plus a plug in data logging and check for errors.

When I got my 328i, the OBC was on 'countdown mode' - effectively telling me 1st service at 15000km.
At 14000km (OBC showing about 1000km), went in for tyre change and service but . . . no service.

OBC was reset with service due at 25000km with an explanation that the OBC was originally 'wrongly set' when delivered.
Formal reply was 30000km interval for free service. I think it's too long...

WTF!! mind also has the same setting as 15000km for the 1st service. Which Service center did you go to??

how can they do that? you should lodge a complain to consumer association. what if they change again in 30k and says it last for 50k?? then what?

I am a little flustered own this issue but credit at AB, they apologized for the error and offered complimentary service ASAP. They were clear on 30k interval for subsequent services thereafter. Am not too comfortable with this though - may pay out of pocket every alternate 15k for service. The error was for the initial wrong setting of 15k km 1st service on OBC on delivery.

BTW am going AB Tun Razak tom morning - any forumers going ?

Just got my ride serviced on Saturday. Was told the computer software needed an update patch of sorts.
It may explain a few things eg why after mileage resetting, the countdown doesnt work.

Will send it in another day bcos updating the computer takes like 5 hours - ouch !

So the mileage on the car now is 19,500km and the car says the next service is due in 20,000km. Brought the car for service and the BMW service centre tells me what it means is that the first BSRI would be due in 19,500+20,000=39,500km. I have to pay if I want to service now. I paid. Am I stoopid?

I think it is wiser to pay our own every 10k km, the 30k km interval is totally BS free service that they trying to short change you.
At the end of the day, protect the engine is the most important part of it. 30k km 1st service might turn out ur engine valve seal, rings n etc spoiled in the future and result consumed more engine oil at premature stage.
Just spend it at AB service at 10k km, then do an interval oil change outside during 20k km using ori BMW oil filter, then when reached 30k km, go back n enjoy their so call "free service"....

eter ... you should question the SC , it is impossible the first BSRI due in 39500km , Mine from quill the first BSRI is due in 12,000KM which i think is reasonable.

Anybody done their first own service at SC? Mind to share the cost and parts changed?

Its showing 12k for the next service on mine, but SA did mention i can bring her in @10k for 1st service, lets see..

So is it true, the recommended service by computer + your current mileage is approximately when your car will be serviced?

This service thing is getting real complicated, nobody seems to know the definite answer. Mine before was counting down from 10,000km to next service. Sent my car in for some defect, they did some software update without service done. Now it is counting down from 20,000km to next service. Called them for an answer, they just told me to wait until the service advisory pops out before sending for service. Right now my mileage is 9200km. Anybody has seen this advisory popping out before?? Just worried if it never pops out, should I just trust them and keep using even if it goes up to 20k mileage.

The real issue here is not whether the service reminder message will pop up or not at 20k. The real issue is whether you want to stretch it to 20k. My advise to you is to service at 10k interval to give a better care for your engine

So what the service manager told me is that if your mileage now is 9200km and your service advisory pops up to be 20,000km it means the service signal will pops up at 29,200km. In another words the counting down is from your actual mileage.
