What's point of 3 years service and repair when they themselves recommends oil change at 10,000km BUT set the OBC for 30,000????? Duped SA that first 10k focus don't worry not in schedule. I end paying for oil and filter. Like waiving labour charges a great service. Don't mind paying for the oil service at 10k. Just be upfront about. Any forumer manage a foc oil change out side the obc schedule?

My OBD says 30k, so I have to pay for everything including labour for the first 10k and 20k service. You are lucky that your SC waive off your labour charge. Better than nothing.

My OBD showing next service is on March 2015 (estimation to reach 30K KM) whereby i bought car on April 2013. Imagine that the engine will run for 2 years without oil change :) . Btw, i plan to service next week by my own

In Germany, the car are serviced every 100k km

basically, the car will run fine on every 30k interval service, you just need to top up engine oil if it gets less than required.

Service it every 8K to 10K km, if you can afford an UDM, why not spending a little bit more to take care of it. If wait for the computer to tell us for service, the car may end up in garage when warranty is over. My dealer does not charge me the labour cost, only oil+filter. I rather they give 4~5 years warranty instead of the stupid BSRI. Audi & Benz give 4 years, therefore I go with Audi for my recent purchase.

Yes. If you love your car spend a little bit more for oil change.

I have no problem paying for oil change at 10k. No way going more than that. No oil is that good. Better pay for small oil maintenance than sludge u build up in engine. Then a much bigger bill to pay. Plus engine loose efficiency.

That's what AB going by. Same with brakes etc as per indicated by the OBC

after spending so much for your car, it only makes sense to change the oil every 10K. Forget what AB offers. Cant really expect the car to run for 2 yrs without an oil change !!!!

FYI, i wrote to BMW Germany. then they still re-route me back to BMW Malaysia.

BSRI = BULL SHIT RUBBISH INCLUSIVE?

Probably the Germans don't know how to read English. Hahaha.

My dashboard computer always shows me that next service is due in 7000KM or April 2014. The counter never drop a single KM and I'm guessing its not working at all. Checked with my SA and he advised to service every half a year (due to the fact that I clock minimum mileage).

Is there anyway for us to do oil change outside and not void the warranty? I'm afraid that BMW Malaysia will claim that I did not perform any routine service when I need to claim for any warranty in future (touch wood).

Changing engine oil would not void your car warranty unless you are not using the correct engine oil. As long as you don't reset the OBD, you can change your engine oil as often as you want and BMW won't know a thing about it. Technically, BMW cannot fault your warranty claim for as long as you follow the OBD.

When i collected my car, the computer showed me that the next service is due on the 12000km or July 2015.. i clarified with the SA and he told me that it's like that nowadays.. however, in 6 months time if i haven't touch 12000km, he told me to bring it in for a service and oil change at my own expense and said that they will not reset the OBD so that i will be able to use the BSRI on the 12000km service..

My SA told me to come bring the car for service around the 10k km mark. Nothing about servicing in between :p so, which one is correct?

I get my car in this May, and the SA requested me extra charge of $4K, to include: new I-drive upgrade + FOC service in every 12,000 km until 60,000 km. meaning to say there will be 5 FOC services...But, when i sent my car to do my first 12,000 km service, the Service adviser said, your system still showing your service due in 500km... blah.... Finally, i asked him to check with their manager why this commitment is different... "Luckily, they willing to "give" this commitment..." So, i think, sometimes we need to stay our point stronger. However, why such a luxury brand still like to play play... if you didn't fight for it, they will suka suka....

Hi , Just wondering is which company do most of you service with? AB , Quill, or otherwise?

I still remembered when BSRI not introduced yet in all new registered BMW cars which all diesel cars needed to service every 5000km.. BMW are making money for BSRI.
