Water in the bonnet...

If you guys have some time off tomorrow, please take a look in the trunk for any trace of water..or this could be happen!!

Water will leak usually from tail light..

After treatment...

Now ..go open your bonnet now!!

Hi initialM...nice meeting you during EGM...this car that I newly bought is one doctor owner with 107k original mileage from new (1992)fully service history with AB & Ultra Tune!!...very well taken care of..:top:
only that he never inspect underneath the carpet I guess....no rust sign at other place..that why I asked our fellow members to spent some time to check their beloved E34....:love:

The rust is only by-product of leakage. If the leakage is not plugged, the rust repair if only temporary..

2 common possibilities of leakage in the boot.

1) Boot rubber seal not seated properly or damaged.

2) Tail light seal has gap.

So does the spare tyre cavity "takung air"? Must take out the spare tyre to check. Hope no surprises there..

Bro..biasanya air masuk ikut lampu brek yg pada bonet tu...cuba hang tekan tang tengah tu (lampu reverse) kalau dia melendut maknanya ada crack laa tu...susah nak tengok dengan mata kasar...nak repair senang jee...hang beli gam gajah rm3, sapu kat tempat crack tu..gerenti tak bocor dah...ni tip Yap GTe34 yang kasi..:top:

For this to happen due to a leak from the tail light means the water must have been gathered there for a long time. This doctor friend must be having too many cars to drive and this is one highly under utilised car.

I have seen this car and it looks the mileage that it has covered. Anakin, congratulations that's a gem of a find apart from this problem.

The E34 of this years actually has another thick layer of insulation material under the spare tyre carpet cover. If it was damp it is not easily noticeable.

Suhaimi, don't worry, your E34 is super clean there. Never had any leak in the booth.

Any one here know the guy that did my bodywork? I only remember his name called Ah Siow and he is no longer there (last time in Kota Kemuning)..need his expertise once again!
