sunroof Installation.

Dear Senior & Fwenz,I got a sunroof set but dntno where to perform the installation as many w/shop ddnt prvide it..Any one of u kno any workshop at klang valley area provided sunroof installation & how much it cost..apreciated if u guys can drop me w/shop add & cntact no..Tq..Tq..

if i'm not mistaken lor...coz that day i wanna buy one also...2 doors sunroof....but one of forumer told me that the roof size is diff between those two...

im not about to change the entire roof man just want to cut them & weld..but i scared it will be bad effect to the roof..any idea bro..?

Bad effect:
1. Poor workmanship can lead to leak and rust.
2. The extra weight carried by the roof will totally upset the drivability of the car because the CG is shifted upwards, more body roll felt.
3. Car is penalised by additional weight, affecting pick up and FC.
4. I have heard a Perdana added the roof and now the car cannot sell because JPJ insist its a illegal kereta potong. He's stuck with the car for life!
5. If it's glass type, u will feel the heat coming into the cabin through your head.

Good effect:
1. Looks cool because most other car on the Malaysian road dun have it.
2. Pop it up a little and can release heat effectively after parking long hour in hot tropical sun.
3. Smoker will love it because its an excellent vent for extracting smokes out from the cabin.

if u wanna cut..better get caroz sunroof..glass type..or if u wanna use the 2 doors sroof...go to caroz..have them to install..after complete...upload ur pic here..

call me old fashioned ....but the thought of cutting out my original roof to install a sunroof ( that is not meant to be there) is just unbearable ...

anyways ...good luck with ur project mate . i hope it works out for u .

btw , just a word of caution about leaks and rust . My dad use to have an honda CA3 that had on irginal sunroof . when it started leaking it was hell on earth for him especially since he loved that car . make sure u choose a workshop that REALLY knows what they are doing especially when it comes to making a hole in ur UDW roof !

Most importantly, it is portable, transferable and you can even install it on your booth or door panels.

You must go to proper shop, so in future there will be no leaking or rust! Normally for Honda it cost about RM1200 for installation.

Sunroof installation 90% done..its just the interior carpet pending due quite hard to find stock fabric material..therefore i sent it for paint first..will update soon..
