Drove to Atmosphere Motorsport at around 4pm, initially just wanted to buy Ceratech and schedule Jetclean for another time, somehow ended leaving the place 5pm with both done.

First impressions (to me, very important):

1. staff unable to drive my car
- the worker wasn't able to drive my car
- but later I found out that the workforce today are "reduced" to a handful of technician only, not everybody is in, New Year Eve mah, Happy New Year!

2. lady boss really workaholic
- try driving my car, after few tries, car not reversing, later came out with backpain
- eventually I drove the car into the work-bay and out, myself, no trouble at all.
- later she told me she had surgery just 6 days ago! WHAT!!
- the backpain mentioned above is result of surgery, not my car seat cap-palang :)

3. How much time it took?
- very fast
- kept accompanied by Edwin all the time
- like mini TT, minus the tea.

4. New Year Eve, special preview promotion
- valid for 1 car only
- they may extend promotion to all OM from 1st Jan 2013 onwards, if I type this FR well
- total damage RM568.00
- Shop closes today at 5pm

5. Way home
- car more fun to drive about
- butt-feel +5hp +5Nm
- it'd be a challenge to monitor the fuel consumption, why?
- because driving-fun index and fuel-consumption $$ are inversely proportional

6. Will I Return?
- Definately
- Make sure you make appointment before you go, you may not be as lucky as I am!!

Thanks for reading.

Happy New Year!

aFe Stage 2 CAI vs factory air intake

Today mark a historical day for my ride. We spent a quality hour at Sunway GT-Auto doing nothing but dyno.
The result is rather encouraging/disturbing/disappointing. Why? Because:

BMW Engineers 1 - 0 aFe Engineers

The ride went in with aFe Stage 2 MagnumForce CAI, left GT-Auto with stock air-intake.

This does not mean aFe folks did not do a good job, the result below simply means that "aFe Stage 2 is not optimized for my current ride setup".

Max torque kgf/m (Nm)
Max PS (hp)
With aFe Stage 2 CAI48.30 (473.66)332.80 (328.25)
Stock Air Intake50.89 (499.06)332.36 (327.81)

The figures above don't explain much but the curves which I'd upload shortly would explain themselves.

Dyno chart

Torque and PS curve are obviously nicer with stock air intake, noticeably in 2k - 4.5k rpm range.
AFR starts degrading from 4.5k rpm onwards, this may be a point to take note when doing future tuning.

seewai...from my experience leave the engine alone and dont waste money on tuning or air intake kit...if u seriously need power increase go for a decent exhaust header or supercharger...

Thanks for the advice sifu.

This Wilayah Day I woke up with a surprise: A/C (climate) control panel backlights flickering at first after switched on and not responding to control buttons. It stayed off after power off/on later and the familiar symptom of fan blowing at top speed appears.

Problem "bypassed" after swapping A/C control with lil sista 520i.

We're still waiting for arrival of the used A/C Console, which is expected to arrive a week or two after CNY.

We spent a night in Kerteh on 14Jan2013. The journey was further than I expected. My Waze brought me through some weird roads (I used Awana Kijal as intermediate) but the 400hp V8 never let me down.

Overall the journey was fun, as this was the first time for "just the two of us".

Kerteh trip damage:

1. 2 pcs of Wrigleys'
2. 1 full tank of Shell RON95.
3. A league of cars suffered my high-beams all the way (with apologies)
4. an injured tooth :(

Last night, for the first time, I'm the passenger, with otai Mizhan on the wheel. While he's driving, I feel uncomfortable by keeping my head off the headrest. It is then only I understand what my other-half has been complaining about.

Tomorrow we're set to travel downsouth for CNY for 3 nights' stay and I foresee it's going to be a fruitful journey.

Sale cancelled by seller, reason given rear blind broken yet unwilling to sell me the center console panel.

Gear knob and short shifter long arrived, just pending gator modification and installation.

Satnav unit arrived in country according to seller (finally after delayed for many weeks) but no idea when I could get them in hand.

Nice project bro... very well documented. P.s. my home is very close to yours. ;)

Lama tak jumpa lah kawan.

Are you referring to the windows and windshields tinting? If yes I did it at one of the windscreen repair shops in PJ. I'll need to refer back to receipt actual address. I did the tinting after repairing a stonechip at front windshield many many moons ago.
