for the sake of those who can't make it for the AGM III, can the committee consider voting by SMS.. macham malaysian idol...

I reckon certain positions with only one name will assume the post uncontested? :p

Yup, looks like the position of President, Secretary and Treasurer are uncontested. The election maybe a non-event afterall :p :)

can.... but only if there is mechanism put in place to verify the authenticity of the origin of the SMS, ie those who wants to vote via SMS must first register with the voting administrator the phone number which the SMS votes will be casted from.

how about considering the nominees who have contested for higher post but have lost? For eg... jeffrey is nominated for both the VP and treasurer post. If he lost the VP post can he also be considered for treasurer post. just a thought to make thing more exciting.

The committee has deliberated and thought about that, it wouldnt be fair to other candidates if we were to do so :) Now its ALL or Nothing :D

It not fair if there are several candidate for the same post but right now there is only one candidate for one post.

I can imagine the situation will arises when certain candidates failed to turn up at the last minutes and we will end up not having to vote as most of the posts are "uncontested".

Worst still, if the post that is considered as uncontested and the candidate failed to turn up.

Other than the president post which should be left uncontested, the protem should consider more candidate for each rather than having it uncontested. But after having say that, it is sad that there are not many people willing to take up the responsibilty of running a club.

I think it is not right to say its unfair. As it has been mentioned numerous times, candidates are free to choose which position they wish to contest in. For instance, the secretary position which there are other members nominated for it (I have posted the names), but NO ONE PM me to express their wish to contest in that position.

The nomination and election process is as transparent and open as it is. If a person is nominated and has accepted his/her nomination and yet cant turn up at the AGM, I think that person shall not deserved to be in the committee. :)

Hey Guys,

It's good to see everything moving as planned and I am very sure the next committee running the office will give the club a fresh new term with full of excitement, sadly I will have to withdraw from the nomination list. I got a call on Saturday; a possible job offer has come up in a particular Indochinese nation.

I may be away for the AGM as I may be needed for an interview there this Sunday. Rest assured if I can postpone it I will be there in the AGM. This is very last minute thing I know, but I am really sorry. I know nothing is confirmed yet, but I do not want to give this great club a commitment half way and then disappear. I will however be a subcommittee for any events held until of course I have to leave lah...

So to all of you that have nominated me and strongly supported me, my sincerest apologies.

So guys if I don’t see all of you this Sunday, Have fun and Selamat Berbuka Puasa to all our Muslim brothers and sisters and to the rest don’t drink too much and drive ya… !!! To the nominees, Good luck

Cheers

By the way, how would the current committee determine eligibility for voting at the AGM?
Only persons who have signed and paid up prior to AGM? Would those persons have to be BMW car owners to be eligible to vote?
What if they are BMW drivers and not owners? What about BMW enthusiasts but no car? What of ex-BMW onwners?
What about persons who turn up at AGM, but did not register earlier but willing to pay the RM35 - will they be allowed to participate in the AGM?

wah so many question.... why asking at the last minute... are you planning a coup... he..he... :D :D
Valid questions though..

VOTE babeblu for VeePee... :yahoo: :yahoo:

i guess babeblu is just trying to make sure all legal areas pertaining to the convening of the AGM is sufficiently covered so that no one can run to court and file an injunction on the results of the AGM. (HAHAHAHAHAHA) Lesson learnt from the glitch during the Bar Council AGM.

All very valid points made by Babeblu, else malicious groups/elements could just come in and hi-jack the club. This club is a democracy, yes, but citizenship and voting rights cannot and should not be handed out willy-nilly ma...
