Yes. Current office bearer can be re-nominated into office provided they do not decline. If they are responsible people and place members welfare above all else, I don't see why not.
Important thing to note. This thread is not meant to do nominations yet. Just think about the potential people who could lead the club. Don't have to say it out loud yet. We don't want potential ppl to start declining even before the formal nomination and election process.
But you can lobby all you want :nyehehe: ....

Wow! I'm touched! But though it's been quite fun serving in one and a half protem committees already, I'm saddled with grave time constraints and won't be effective. That's why I stepped down earlier this year and it turned out to be a sad but good decision cos I could concentrate on my business which is still at infancy. So, I humby decline and please count me OUT.
I would luv to see new blood giving a shot and infusing new ideas!

Let's get serious about this and allow me to express my views without restraint...
I'm truly blessed to have witnessed first class leadership in 535i. Truly, this fella got a natural predisposition to put other people's interest first at the expense of his own. He commands respect for that! and gets things DONE! The IAD 2005 was a monumental success and how many of us particularly those who had the pleasure of working for and with him have been so gratified by his refreshing, involving yet consensual leadership! Thanks Izam! He's my undoubted choice for a key leadership position!
But a leader is nothing without partner in arms, cos when working together with real friends, it becomes fun at the sametime. I've had great fun with many of you and know how important this is. So, recalling from my experience having a fun working relationship recently with some of you, I think the purrfect team for our new Committee should comprise dedicated and selfless fellas like Jarence, Sithwarrior, 5201, Iceman.... Zooooggee and others!! Guys, don't be afraid of being in the front line cos there are those of us who appreciate that good yet simple deeds resounds and reverberates more significantly and meaningfully than a million empty words!
Some elements of the present protem committee have selflessly kept the fire going! DD has been a tremendous unifying force and I believe no matter his position, he'll continue to play this crucual role. Then, there's Alvin who's been a great voice of wisdom and Albundy who's been a worthy check and balance (don't forget his role in assisting in the orgynising Grand TT and the Projet events). Jeffreyewe has kept our financial affairs intact and heck, what an honest joe! Fabian is ever willing to do his part with or without that big fat camera! Then there are silence service fellas like Elwine30 who has managed to carry out important tasks without gloating. These guys, I'm sure will continue to extend support whether with or without position.
I've been accused of lobbying which is utter nonsense or sounding like a wimmen or "pundek" who ought to shuddup!. Hey, many women are becoming more sensible than guys, k and vice versa! My conscience is clear! I contribute wherever I can cos I find it fun and will continue to do so for any leadership whoever they may be. But, let's get the right leadership in place, let's get it started (not retarded) and bring in a new era of dedicated, energetic and fun loving leadership!

Anyways back to the AGM, yes much agreed with JPB's words, but seriously for those of you who I have spoken to I may sound like a broken record, but I'm gonna say it agian lor...I am a new member and only contributed during IAD. I believe a persons contribution should be gauged by consistency through out the year or at least for six months.

- I am sorry, but I sincerely feel that you are appropiate for this position as you have a vision and willingness to hear others out and work with them ( a great parther for Izam ). Izam... undoubtedly a true leader ( I think everyone has to agree after witnessing the IAD .. )
Kahar - Consistent contributions in many areas, many times
Vanilla Coke - I feel some gender equality should be given here and for a women she has done more than her share during her service for the IAD. I think the commitee will have more great stuff to say about her. I personally think she did an execelent job being a secratatry during the whole event planning
We should have these people involved in the future Protem as I feel they will make things happen, not that I dont feel the rest are capable, but I have seen these people perform and all I can say is Great stuff

Since I was then new to the club and don't know the members well enough, I guessed it was only right for me to abstain from voting during the last AGM. However, this time round, I think I've known a fair number of members here and thus am more confident in justifying my votes.
I think the current committee members did a fantastic job, not forgetting the equally commendable effort put together by 535i and his team in making the IAD a runaway success. There are also few others whom qualify for nomination as well, taking into consideration their selfless contribution to the well being of the club and its members. Will put down the list of nomination i have in mind once it is open.

Anyways, i'd like to agree that the club needs some fresh meat...ppl like kahar who are selfless, Jarance (always there to lend a hand) and Izam (who did an excellent job recently). I cant comment too much on many of the others, I think being fairly new here cripples that...so....
Since the club is heading and crossing over a new and exciting threshold, we'll need ppl who are disposed to such challenges...
I'll be voting.........k:

I do agree it was teamwork that successed the IAD . But teamwork can only be achieved with a strong leader to whole an d bind the team together.

Yes zam, the IAD was a success becos of TEAMWORK but then again, a TEAM cannot function properly without a good and strong LEADERSHIP. And you have shown it.
