Hi everyone,I introduced myself in the newbie section a few days ago. To recap, I am a first time owner of pre-owned E90 325i. To me, owning this car is a fullfillment of one of my long time goals in life (next one is to watch Man United live at old trafford). Have been driving the car for about a week and the sound of the inline 6 cylinders moving up the rev range must be the sweetest sound on the planet.Anyway, I have been reading up the threads and have been learning a lot about the car from here thanks to all the inputs from other owners.I do like to seek advise on the following...1. The previous owner had changed his tyres to michelins and its not runflats. I am a bit worried about the risk of a puncture which will leave me stranded...any ideas out there on mitigating this? Heard some owners buy space savers spare and place it in the boot tyre well?2. My car has 53K mileage on it. I sent it for Service at Quill in PJ. The Service advisor recommended to change the Auto Transmission oil at 60K. My understanding is that this transmission is lifetime or change at 120K? Would just like to know what the rest of the E90 owners out there practice?3. When is the next TT session? Would like to join if I am around.

Well congratulations BeemDream! You certainly picked the right dream, and the right model to fulfil that dream. As per their brand essence document, the essence of BMW automobiles was created in 1933 when the blue and white roundel, kidney grills and in-line 6 petrol engine first appeared. Enjoy your sweet L6 while you can, because from the next 3-series onwards, only the higher-end (read expensive) models are expected to have 6 cylinders, ie 3.0 litres upwards.

On the ATF, BMW's position was until recently, that it's supposed to be 'lifetime'. But now you'll find flyers in the dealer showrooms recommending changes every 60k. And these flyers are from BMW Malaysia, so it's the official line, not that of a dealer or a service consultant. They have not included ATF changes in their BSRI free maintenance (by cleverly putting it at 60k, just beyond BSRI mileage), but who knows, it might be in the future.

Enjoy! :1:

BeemDream, care to provide a bit of your personal review on the car? Cheers.

My previous car was a Ford RS Lynx. All my previous cars before that was a Jap. This E90, 325 is my first Conti. What was my driving experience over the last 1 week?

Well, the following are some points (comparatively to the Ford RS Lynx which on its own is a pretty well tuned car already).

1. Didn't realise that I was doing access of 160km/h on NKVE over the weekend until the wife pointed it out. Cabin was very quiet through out...
2. Great chassis and suspension - Handling is superb and hardly any body roll. Of course the rear wheel drive gives it a different feeling altogether. Making me want to take bends at high speed all the time.
3. The acceleration of the I6 engine is extremely smooth
4. The sweet purring sound of the I6 is so addictive...making me burn more fuel.
5. The overall technology, sensors etc that has gone into it is remarkable. Still learning about this.
6. The overall build quality, both interior and exterior cannot compare to a Jap. My two sons say they have to use more strength to close the door.
7. Cabin space is larger than my Ford and also the E46 which I had sat in (the back) once. My older son can sit in the rear seats very comfortably, all 5 feet 8 inches of him.

To sum up, the car cost me RM155K but the driving pleasure I am getting in return is priceless!!!

Haha, I like this statement!

BTW, I just collected my E90 325i and now need to go back to Terengganu, I can't wait to get into the car and drive but need to pack up things first, :-(

I am certain you will be enjoying every moment of the drive especially the coastal road from cherating onwards. Just floor the accelerator and enjoy the sound and acceleration.

Glad to hear you're having a wonderful time with your ride bro.

Great write-up too. :top:

Congratulations on the new ride bro! the sound of a 6 potter will always be a 6 potter....musical to ears... :)

If you really want to appreciate I6 sound, do wind down the windows whenever in between two hills, i.e. Karak Highway. Another good place is whenever driving thru tunnel

Couldn't agree more with you. Congratulations on you new found ride, your pride and joy. Just like Schwepps use to say, the I6 N52B25 is a smooth heck of an engine with lots of SOUL. When you mix SOUL with AWESOME HANDLING & STEERING DYNAMICS, you get a PRICELESS EXPERIENCE! A true engineering marvel. Till today, I will take the longer route home whenever possible :) (It never fails to put a smile from ear to ear, never.):top:

All good comments for outstanding machines:top:..japanese cars cant give u such excitement..your bimmer is definitely your pride n joy..
