Peace Scwepps. The E90 members have always been civil to me and I regret making the remark. Anyways I am glad to know that this isnt a common grouse amongst E90 owners as I hope to get an E90 in the future.

No worries bro, we will be glad to let you have a ride on our cars if ever have a chance. Then only you tell us whether there is any sluggishness, lag or whatever with our cars. We E90ers are nice cool guys

The discrepancy in experience may boil down to a tighter engine when new. I did find that the E90 325i sports which JPB and myself test drove in its maiden test drive journey (30+ kms on the ODO), was a bit tight and was less reluctant to go from the start but it wasn't so bad that I would complain about it.

The thing is when I got my car even off the showroom with ~100kms, I didn't experience this. Perhaps manufacturing tolerances or the bigger wheels of the sports? You're welcome to ride in my car if you do ever make it down to KL for an E90 meet, to gauge if the feel of the acceleration from standstill  . Its quite impressive for an auto box car if you ask me.

From my brief drive of a client's 325 sport I agree that the accelaration when the car is on the go is the best I've experienced. Thats what makes me look forward to owning this car someday.

Yeah! I recall telling E46Fanatic that the brand new Sports we drove in its first 50 kms was very tight esp compared to the veteran demo E90 AB extended me as courtesy car pending delivery of my E92 which had 19,000 kms on the clock and was spirited from the word go! Like the E46, the E90 also starts from 2nd gear and torque delivery at low revs truly disguise the engine's potential as the revs climb and it does climb very well. I don't mind this linear power delivery actually, it adds to composure and refinement.

anxious bro, may I know what was your speeding record? Don't have to tell us where u clock it.. :D or is it a frequent affair?

Why I am asking is I do speed "a little" :D occasionally and very seldom can I reach full potential of the engine output before needing to brake or slowdown or fighting/struggle to regain control or stay on the road due to narrow bends.. yes, even on the highway..

It sounded like you are in search of a perfect car that you can both "bring her out to socialise (good look and knowledgeable) and leave her in the kitchen to prepare u good meal (good cooking skill).." :D

Anyway, I know ur intention la... you want the message to reach the BMW designer so it can be improvised on the E90 face lift version.. seriously, I don't thinks its an issue in the first place.

Welcome and good choice of car :) Must be having sleepless nights waiting for the car heh...

Back to the topic of sluggish starts, I am now using a loaner 320 I I felt that the pick up seems to be much better than I can remember. Wondering if thy did anything new/diff to the engine since I drove it a year back or it's because the car has clocked 10,000 km plus. When compared to the 325, the initial pick up of the 320 seems good. Wonder why???

i tried the test 320i and it felt sluggish, but when i drove my actual car, it felt great!!!

Welcome, Zaidatul! You're a nice change from the usual ex-boy racers here ;)

Sigh! Re-different take offs in different cars, it's been explained several times in this thread that this is due to the adaptive nature of the steptronic box. Please try to grasp the concept of a box that maps according to how you usually drive.

See http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104412 for a tip on how to remap it.

Makes sense. All the loaner cars feel extra spritey probably from the amount of drivers "tekaning' the car as its not theirs haha.

I certainly had no problems with all the DT cars that I have driven. And these cars are all new with less than 5km on the odometer!!! :)

FYI, I did a gearbox reset and drove the car. It's not the gear mapping that I was commenting about, it's the engine.

Many cars has this feature and I think its more than just gearbox. The ECU too is learning non-stop the driver's behavior and loading character. Reseting the ECU is just like what the poster in e90post mentioned. Disconnect the battery for some time, that will reset the ECU and start learning from fresh.

DT I guess it's ok, but I wont buy the driver trainer cars after the way we really whack the cars :)

Don't look at KM, imagine all 4 tyres can see exposing canvas by the end of the day.. I am talking about bashing beyond whatever u can imagine..

If u must find out, the shockers and all the undercarriage bushings took the day long abuse. See how much does it cost to replace all of them, after which, yes! the car still boleh pakai. Engine and gearbox no big deal la.
