Excuse me sir,

Please be very sure you have your facts when posting up such claims. ASC+T does NOT work when you maintain throttle input as you claim, it works off throttle as well. The difference you feel between the e90's traction control system and the e46's is that with DSC(in the e90) it works on all 4 wheels, whereas with ASC+T(e46) it only controls the rear wheels.

You feel this less on the e90 also because it has CBC(cornering brake control). It can apply the brakes on any individual wheel to create a counter momentum should the car step out of line of its intended travel.

Actually I remember that my E46 had CBC as well. Only early batches of E46 comes with ASC+T. Later batches has DSC already.

Here's the demo of what CBC does..

interesting read this is and most talked about the car having this and not this contraption....

why no one asked if the driver braked or lifted off abruptly or power-on too abruptly? did you hit a puddle just before the spin? Since it was on new tyres, i should guess that's less of an issue.

the key to driving in the rain is.....gentle moves on all action and anticipation ahead.

cars are not idiot proof, no matter how many A-B-C systems you have.

drive safely but at least driver is ok in this story....

This is an interesting post indeed...im glad you are ok.

I had the same incident when i got my car on the MEX exiting to Cyberjaya - tail spin and damaged the rear tyre+rims+axle+knuckle+tail lights. Was an expensive experience for me...but glad to make it out alive.

From then on, each time it rains - im taking my time.
