I quit more than 14 years ago.. The best way is to count the number of cigarette that you take per day.. Deduct 1 cigarette every week and you will find that it gets easier as the quantity goes down.. And you will just stop..

I went cold turkey. It was hard. After 2 weeks was dying for stick. The it slowy went away. 8 years already. 2 years for cough n slime with your body building back the dead cells and 3 years for your lungs to heal inside. So build my health back I went swimming till today.

*please dont smash me*:6:

Just so my post isnt off-topic,

I started (or tested rather)cigarettes while in school... didnt get what the fuss was about, taste bad, expensive, terrible after taste..

Plus, its literally rolling up dollar bills & burning them slowly :stupid:

To those who are trying to kick the habit, good luck.. burn rubber & clutches instead :top:

A friend of mine quit smoking for about 2 months already...he still have urges to pick up a ciggie everynow and then...especially when he is boozing....so far so good...he is hanging in there...

but doesnt help when his HM also smokey....

thats great ....but just beware of the nicotine withdrawal which usually happens after the 2nd month onwards

Aiyah phai, very easy...everytime u think of a smoke, u just need to think of that heart palpitation u had...
Remember our talk nearly two yrs back ?:top:

Iceman,

I quit two months ago. First two weeks, was a nightmare. Withdrawal symptoms were hardly something I could bare with. Thick Phlegm and dry cough was enough to make me want to jump off a ledge, but thank god I pulled through.
Its safe to say that the urge to smoke will never actually go away, but perseverance to want to breath healthy will help you get there.

Cheers

Kudos to those who have stopped smoking. For those trying to stop, try harder and don't give up!!! speaking as a medical student, a lot of cases of lung cancer and lung problems in the hospital all coming in with difficulty breathing etc. all these signs and symptoms won't present themselves now but later on at around 50-60 years old. I've tasted a few ciggies, no fun la... if stress, go for a spin at night. if want motivation, calculate the amount of money you can save to buy parts e.g. rims, bodykit etc... hahahah... it's up to you how to stop and it differs from individual to individual. best way is to replace it with something else. like for example if you're starting to crave for a puff, go take a jog or do something to distract your mind. good luck guys!!!

p/s : see a lot of smokers in the club especially during TT

I quit smoking in 1987 after cough heavily every morning.it took me two years to overcome the addicted symptom but now i completely free from tobacco and smoke. At that time my friends teased me-someday you can buy mercedes or bmw by the saving .and now its happened.
Mr Iceman,
You know that smoking may shortened your life but your life is happier.he he

% of those living to those age are pretty minimal ...hence if ya grandpa is still healthy and walking ..then it's a blessing ...

my FIL is 87 now and only quit after his 3rd STROKE(stubborn type of person) and upon his 4th stroke (recently) he barely moves and the frequent visit to the hospital is indeed taxing already ...not to mentioned the other problems that i'm facing ...

so for those living to such age my hats off to them

for those overweight@high cholesterol ...do take note that you'll face a raise in BP after couple of months ...if you've got a stressfull life ..do consider changing your lifestyle ...

I quit smoking in 2005, never gone back since. Cold turkey. It was damn hard at first , since my circle of friends smoke.
Now and then, on a cold night with hot coffee, the urge to smoke does come, even after 8 years.
