I think the Group 1 sessions are getting filled up aledi... U might wanna start planning for the Nov session...

i say man... this time can't bring in my car.. will be in the workshop... maybe try on November day..

Have already registered, paid and confirmed for 9 Sept event... Group 2 morning session, will still bring my Satria :p :)

yeah grp 1 all close di man..last week i try to register all full...bugger..november it is!

To the HPC instructors (Fabian and gang), I have some questions:

1) When I was there in Group 1 on 22 April, there were 2 cars to an instructor, what is the ratio now? What about for Groups 2 and 3, how many cars to an instructor?

2) What is the total number (maximum allowed) of cars for each group? Seems like there were a whole lot more cars in Group 2 back in April... especially when waiting for the pit lane exit to open at the beginning of each session.

LCP,

I will answer ur question - in the capacity of head instructor.

1) On average, we will have still 2 students to 1 instructor. This is due to the fact that we have a pool of about 20 - 24 instructors who are ACCREDITED thru an MANDATORY external training programme. Naturally, some instructors may not make it for the day, so in minimum we need at leat 15 instructors to make this work.

Do note that instructors are only required for Group ONE only! Gp 2 does not require instructors and is for more advanced drivers. Gp 3 are for drivers with competition/race experience and instructors.

I am very well aware the 2 participant/1 instructor is not perfect, for both participants AND also my group of instructors as we have to do this the entire day. We are increasing our instructor pool.

Last of all, and important to note - all instructors work on a voluntary basis who paid for their own accreditation. Our 'salary' is just track time in Gp 3 slots. Yes, we are indeed hard core & passionate enthusiasts and hence to find such drivers for our instructor pool is not easy.

I thank each and every one of them for their dedication and assistance.

2) For Gp1 & Gp 2, we have a max 30 car field. This is the reason why we request drivers to place their car stickers correctly as this indicates which gp they have signed on for. I do not discount the possibility that some drivers misunderstood their own grouping.

For the July 22 event, we placed a placard at the track entry to show which session is on. This system will be continued.

Hoping to have enlighten you.

jules, thanks for your clarification.

Go for Grp 1 for your first time with HPC so that you'll get to have an instructor with you to guide you on Sepang.. U'll learn better that way. Even if you have driven on Sepang before, u may have picked up bad habits too along the way without knowing it. A more experience driver would be able to point them out to u so that you can correct and improve on your lines.

LCP,I noticed that you've registered,so does a group of E46 drivers too.

Satria....???I'm thinking of driving a Satria too.Hopes that the HPC Principals will allow me to drive the Satria.

Zoggee, it's my own bluish green Satria lah... This time I have a bunch of friends (not from this club) coming along also... Satria GTi 4G63T, Satria GTi 4G93T, a heavily modded RX7 FD, Alfa 147 2.0 Selespeed 2-door (Gp1), and some of their friends (RX8, R34, E46 M3)... let's just say mine's the slowest of the whole lot in Gp 2.

Guys,

Sorry for late reply.....and as Fabian has said - it's best to start in Gp 1 cos its not just about knowing the track but we are teaching you to drive safely in a track environment and no, we are not talking about going very fast.

We are teaching you to drive with courtesy, obeying the passing rules, use the correct hand signals along with the normal SOP of braking, turning in, steering work etc.

Even if you are a competent driver - I believe you will learn something in Gp 1.

In Gp 2, you are on your own so things may get a bit hot for the newbies.....

Anyway, we aim for Safety and fun - in ALL gp...
