Hi Guys, a little sharing on how to turn recirculated air memory function on using DIS/GT1. Info on how to install DIS is here http://www.bmwclubmalaysia.com/forums/showthread.php?40618-EasyDIS-44-and-INPA-working, or if you are at the mechanic's to diagnose, might as well jump on him to get this done. I a few times had forgotten to block outside air recirculation, and passengers teased me for messing with the vehicle too much.. while in reality that was the default behavior. :stupid:I may have missed some screens in the process so please bear with me. When doing the actual programming, I had to turn the key to ACC/position 1 and program, not as the screen instructed (ignition off and on again). Probably related to the interface in use. Hope this helps somebody...CheersAidilLaunch DIS and click on Coding/Program. This button only available to v44 not v57

Click on car memory

Connect interface, turn ignition on, and click the right green button

During my autodetect, this error pops out as the factory radio was removed for obvious reason. Click yes

Autodetect runs again and comes this screen, choose HVAC (number 8)

Then choose flaps then recirculated air memory

Mine was not activated

Activate then check the same page, note that setting are not written yet

Go back to main page car memory page, scroll down and choose set vehicle

This page summarizes changes you have made and will be written

Here is where I need to turn switch to ACC/position 1 to program, toggling ignition doesn't work, click yeshttp://i791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/aidilj/ihka/20.pngSuccessful programhttp://i791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/aidilj/ihka/21.pnghttp://i791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/aidilj/ihka/22.pngDoublechecking, guess the asterisk shows the default factory option. Have fun!http://i791.photobucket.com/albums/yy197/aidilj/ihka/23.png

Aidilj, do you mean that your AUC is always off ? Or are you just trying to fix the default setting during ignition. I have been getting AUC Heating fault code , I think the 'stink sensor' is shot.

I always set mine to block outside air (right led on), not AUC mode - autodetect stink (left led). And everytime the car is switched on it will default to outside airflow on (no led). This setting is supposed to remember the last setting that I use so that don't have to set it everytime the car is turned on

I think can't do this with INPA, should try NCSexpert. But really expert one. See here for example

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1562077

Ha..ha.. I knew you would say that. but I think it is possible if you know the HEX code. What is your Hex code before and after it was changed.

Was playing with INPA last night with the live data. Much more information than the novice scanner.

You don't have to read HEX, it seems it also spits out a human readable file. I started off with DIS because afraid of breaking anything going too advance/expert too soon. More confidence now.

Don't kill your own group buy scanner, different league, INPA is factory grade debug tool.

Aiya.. I am not in the business of doing sales for the scanner.. Scanner 1.4.0 is for novice which I think about 90% of
the people here. It is relatively safe to use. It more like a thermometer to check whether you have a fever. If got fever
then have to see doctor for medicine.

Oversea forum are light years ahead of us. They even have a section completed dedicated to diagnostic tool.

Now that I have got the INPA to run properly, it time to play with it.. learning the tips and tricks..

confirmed that the asterisk (*) means factory settings, here's the info from TIS

Other than DIS, NCS Expert can be used for recoding.

Just recoded mine to default recirculation mode on my E46 with NCS Expert thanks to bro anaksarawak. Found a tutorial online on how to code various functions via NCS. Require some time to understand though.

Anyway, for those who are willing to DIY. Here is the guide:
