My fc is getting higher too, from the initial 6.4l/100km to the current 7.4L/100km after 3years. I wonder what could be the problem. I also like to ask since I just finished my warranty period, how often should we change our engine oil? Some said 7-8k km, some said ard 10k km. which one to follow?Mavik said:That is rather high, I am getting on average around 8.0L/100km and that is pure city driving and getting stuck in traffic jams.
I change mine around 8000km as I track my car, so the more frequent oil change. Otherwise 10-12000km is fine as well.Lovehewit said:My fc is getting higher too, from the initial 6.4l/100km to the current 7.4L/100km after 3years. I wonder what could be the problem. I managed to hit 5.8 L / 100 km during my last drive to Bidor, and that was with heavy traffic too.Lovehewit said:My fc is getting higher too, from the initial 6.4l/100km to the current 7.4L/100km after 3years. Thanks, I'm worry to get a 2nd hand unit actually but couldn't afford to get a new one yet.Lovehewit said:I just finished my warranty so I'm not able to give you a precise maintenance cost, but from what I'm told, changing the lubricant should be around 600+ included labour fee. I think the most important thing to check is the engine, service records if any (I would advice get the one with proper track of service record, you can even call up the service center to verify), the overall car check which you can do by bring the car to see a trusted mechanic (check if there's any accident before, leakage etc). Hope that helps.
A standard engine oil change plus filter can be around in the RM500+ range depending on the brand of oil you are using. Some opt for the more expensive oil and some decide to go for the cheaper ones so that is a main factor as the car will use 5L of oil.kockroach said:Dear all sifu, am considering to buy a 2010 E90 320D, can I know what are the thing to check and what are the maintenance cost to be expected.
Thank you.
Get the car inspected at any reputable mechanics or service centre (Quill, Wheelcorp, Wearnes), cost less than RM200 for full inspection. The report should be able to tell of any faults with the car.kockroach said:Dear all sifu, am considering to buy a 2010 E90 320D, can I know what are the thing to check and what are the maintenance cost to be expected.
