So far only brake pads have been changed for tear and wear items. And of course 4 times of tire change. I only fill Caltex and Petronas diesel. For the engine oil, AB Penang always use original BMW engine oil service package/kit with Castrol oil.

Hmmm... Mine is a dec 2009 model. It is already running close to 160K. So far no issue..

Wow. Thats like 53,000+ kms per year. Thats like 4400+ per month. Thats like 1100+ per week. Thats like 140+ km every day. wow...

Stay in KL and office in Klang will eat up daily mileage about 120km (inclusive some makan trip). However, if those mileage are on highway, the engine is so much less stressful than under those start-stop traffic during peak jam in KL. I would say 100km start-stop traffic milelage ~= 130km in highway cruising.

example: same mineral motor oil use, in KL start-stop/heavily jam the oil can last about 5000km whereby when I travel NSE (no jam), the same engine oil can last 7500km.

Thats right Bro, you need to take account how long the engine has been running not just miles travelled. Even if you are stopping and waiting for the girlfriend to get ready, your engine is running and engine oil is being used... Cheers

Would love to hear from those with the 177bhp 20d engine with DTUK.. any issues so far with excessive black smoke? Any engine issues?

Considering an X1 20d.

Thats why change oil every 5k km. Not to mentioned stuck in KL jam. Lucky i stay in JB no jam no flood and 5km away to office.

Looks nice! Tail pipe ends change or the entire back box?
Hi Mavik,

I believe it is just the tail pipe (tips) change only. Entire back box (BMW Performance Exhaust) change can refer to Eurotuner. Carlsson's car is with the Performance Exhaust.

Thanx bro... just pulled the trigger on an X1 20d.Will be looking to install DTUK soon.

Well been using DTUK PB and Pipercross combo for around a year now.

Issues thus far:
1. Idling timing was a bit erratic. But have since rectified this by changing the position of the DTUK. Had installed behind the driver side headlight cluster. Now on passenger side near ATF reservoir.
2. Black smoke by the bucket load before. But since installed Pipercross reduced a lot. Fuel also plays a key role here. I m on Shell BTW due to co fleet card.
3. A tad concerned on over torquing the gearbox as mine is an earlier 177hp so TC is not as good as the newer cars so detuned it down a bit.
4. Engine clutter seems to be a bit louder than before.

Hi Thread,

60k service coming soon, just to find out what is the parts or services will be done by AB?
And what is the damage usually? Since it's still under BSRI for 60k mil.

Thanks.
