ask for a spare car, shall do

They are stingy on this. Even when I installed the power kit, no spare car.
Anyway, I can arrange a car myself. If this might solve the problem, let's do this.

Which SC? Who are the SA? Thanks in advance.

I complained 3 times for the front shock absorber knocking sound. The thing is the knocking sound doesn't come out every time. When it does come out, it is bad, knocking...not absorbing.

They couldn't find the source of sound. What they did for the past 3 times were to tighten up the related parts according to the specific force as per SOP, which minimised the sound but not eliminate it.

I suspected that the knocking knock out the wheel alignment, but the technician said the knocking has nothing to do with wheel alignment. Is this true?

hmmm...sound familliar...last time mine changed the steering rack due to that knocking sound..hmm...now it solved after 30k km ...just be patient...they need to follow the procedure before proceed for spare part change...be patient man...

done mine at ab tun razak...sa kent lee...

yes, we get together for deadly poison drinking sessions at Citta Mall at Ara D'sara every so often. Join us for the next one, it's just up the road from where you are. Usually very spur of the moment, and short notice.

Hi all,
I have been following this thread from page 1 since weeks, quite tiring reading through the forum thread :p
Well, finally I'd owned the 'Power-horse' 2010 model (While I was figure Passat Vs 320d). Well, very satisfy with my ride and no regret about it.
Meantime, still reading the User-manual since I got the car.

Question, Is there a bluetooth tie with our mobile phone? couldn't find any guide for the phone settings!? Please help.

Send my car for service at IngressAuto@Mutiara Damasara.

Booked by appoint on Wedz 5/9/2012@1030am. Reach there 1025 and checkedin.
Waited for 30mins but wasnt attended by anyone. Had to remind the receptionist.

Got attended by a service engineer and raised my issues to him
1. Cabin wind noise after 100kmph
2. Steering/Alignment veering to the left
3. Aircon giving out smell after a coldstart

Got my scheduled service done with 4000km to go. was told engine oil will be change and some filter.

@100pm was told car ready to be collected by 130. but diagnosis of the issues was
1. It is the design of the 320d side mirror giving out noise higher than usual at high speed ?? :( is this true?
2. This is due to alignment issue as such no covered under BSRI
3. Yet again was told this is the characteristic of the 320d. nothing can be done :(

So not having any of my issued sorted. Wasnt satisfied. So took a drive to MPS Auto as recommended by nand78.

Silly me... got a hardtime trying to find MPS as I was assuming it was at the famous Sunway Auto area. But alas!!! it was on the taylor college instead. Thanks google map for saving me.

Got to MPS at 3pm. Overall service was prompt. But had to wait 2.5hours before my car was finally done. Was told my back tyre left 20% thread and was quoted 1600RM (gulp) for Bridgestone 17" RTF.

Before I left, notice a Black 320d was doing balancing and alignment too. Sorry bro din manage to say hi as was tired waiting there alone.

Alignment for was at RM125
Balacing alloy is at RM9/piece. I needed 4 pieces.
Prices about is before service tax @6%.

Thanks again nand78 for recommending MPS Auto.

lild,

MPS charged me RM125 + service tax. Obviously more than the normal cap ayam tyre shops but the end result is really good.
Im totally satisfied :)

Hi fellow 320ders, got two questions to ask you all (btw my ride is 2012 car, around 4,500km mileage):

1. I usually pump petronas but one day try shell. Big mistake, car felt less powerful immediately. Now after 2 full tanks of petronas situation still hasn't improved. What should I do?

2. Should I pay for a service at 5,000km that is not covered by bsri? Is it worthwhile?

Btw, it's been a thrill driving it, the power, fuel efficiency, big diff for someone coming from steady diet of Japanese cars.

just walk into any dealer and check the key if say no need , then no need to service , if yes then service.

There's been some discussion on this one but despite the number of engineers owning diesel BMWs we've not really had any definitive answers yet :D Some swear by Caltex, others by BHP. I've tried both along with Shell/Petronas/Esso and have spent in the thousands using Singapore ULSD Euro 4/5 diesel and I can't tell the difference either. You get way more power from a tuning box like the DTUK in all honesty.

Join one of the diesel TTs one day!

1. Cabin wind noise after 100kmph

The cabin noise issue generally comes from the top of the windscreen.
They will ask you to leave the car overnight to reseal the windscreen.

Has anyone done this before? Is it guaranteed?

Anyway with all the AES popping out these days, not going to go >100kph much.

This is what I've been told. I haven't done mine. As haven't found the time to head back to leave the car overnight. ... Kinda need the car.
