1. We have auto level sensor, so the manual adjustment dial is no longer needed. If yours has a manual headlight level dial, that only means your car no auto headlight level mechanism.

This reminded me of what I read in Wikipedia (HID Lamps) with regards to Xenon HID headlights:

Internationalized European vehicle regulations require such headlamps to be equipped with lens cleaners and an automatic self-leveling system to keep the beams aimed correctly regardless of vehicle load and altitude, but no such devices are required in North America, where inherently more glaring beam patterns are also permitted. Retrofitting HID bulbs in headlamps not originally designed to accept them results in extremely high levels of glare, and is illegal throughout most of the world.

Of all the cars I've driven in Asia & Europe in the last few years, all the Xenon-equipped cars do not have manual levelling dials (so as to comply with European regulations), while all non-Xenon (halogen) cars have the manual dials.

What the hell, no alarm?! That means there's no motion (theft) sensor too? The BMW dealer in this country is really cheap skate one. Doesn't BMW's competitors like MB C class have this basic feature?

2. Alarm? Our CKD E90 doesn't come with alarm. Only immobilizer to immobilizer the ECU from activating the engine and a remote that unlock and lock doors, plus release boot lid, that's all. Break our window, force our door open, no alarm no siren.. our car is dumb!.. :D

Motion sensor is a nuisance la.. After a while, u'll wish u never had them.. :D

yea.... my fren's oem alarm on a jap build was so sensitive, dem irritating

Ah sooooo! I always thought it's just fancy-schmancy load compensation for best road lighting. Never thought of it as being a legal requirement for Xenons. :top:

Took a drive on the highway.....I accelerated from standstill and waited to watch my oh-so-clever-and-new-fangled headlights beams cast out further with increasing velocity. And NOTHING happened. They were the same. Tried it with the fog lights on. And nothing. No diff!

I have an appointment at the service centre on wednesday. Will ask in detail and report back.
