i believe this is a full kit with functional light indicators n requires minor re-wiring..good price for brand new item as I've seen those used sets selling for sgd300+ at bmw-sg forum..imo this M5 knob looks a bit better than M3

my bad, it's the arrows that's not present on the M3. initialM's is from M5.

Vixxx installed his for about RM300. The workmanship charges is high due to the wiring job involved and there might be a need to grind the centre knob shaft to fit the new knob (depending on model). However, those who are interested may install all at a single place to negotiate cheaper workmanship charges.

Sorry to keep you all waiting, BMWCM was down all of last night and this morning.
I have obtained permission from initialM to proceed with the group buy as I can get a lower price to benefit all of you interested.


The price is for the gearknob with E60 M5 wiring (E60 M5 'selector handle SMG' part #25162282750) is RM600.00 inclusive of shipping to me.

The price for a plug and play harness for E90/92/93 is an additional RM200.00


If you want to install it one method is to cut/splice & join wires. Disadvantage of this method is it is not easy to revert back to stock as your car wiring will need to be cut.

Saw in vixxx thread that cost to install is around RM300 at his mechanic.


I am looking for instructions to make a plug and play harness for E39, E46 & E60. I will update if I find any solution.

I have a solution for E90/92/93 drivers to keep the car wiring harness intact by using genuine connector/wiring from BMW at additional cost to make a harness which is plug & play and can be easily reverted to stock. Please check your car wiring to make sure it looks like the one in the link posted below.
Cost for the wiring is RM180.00 including shipping to me.
I have spoken to my brother e34_lover and he is willing to assemble the harness for an additional RM20.00 each (I am not good at doing those stuff haha).

The parts are used to make the harness is listed below:

The shift boot/boot ring on this shift knob will NOT fit on any model than the E60 M5.

It FITS on the E46 M3 (SMG) by swapping in the original boot ring.

It can be made to fit other models by cutting off the E60 M5 shift boot and zip tying your original shift boot to the knob.

Bro, am never hijack this thread since the beginning. Please do not involve or condemning others.

My mech did mine with proper socket. Lastnite, I just unplugged the gear knob with complete harness to our OM trademark within 3 min.
And, my old gear knob was put back in place without any issue. And what good bout my mech is, he did it as what customer want.

Fyi, Harbhajan and trademark not even been charge till RM300

...bro thnxxx for the heads up...Jangan marah bro I dont think max is condemning anybody...he is just mentioning what he read in your post...and may not actually know how ur mechanic fix urs for you so I presume he is assuming that it will be a disadvantage...
