what is this 3in1 scanner?

It is an advance version of the scanner 1.4.0. Basically it can scan E46 and newer model like E90 and E60, F-series.

It has 2 USB ports. I dont recommend it because the price is about RM500+.

are you planning a GB for the 3 in 1 2.0 scanner? we haven't experiment regarding N42 using 1.4 scanner to see if it can detect live data. Do you have spare scanner to sell? don't forget about me sifu.

yes, this is another cable that is workable and relatively cheap as well.

I also have the cable but it is USB interface.

Nice....My laptop don't have RS232 interface anymore....hehe...

Nowadays, serial comm port are seldom available for laptop. Even my laptop dont have DVD drive.

Are you refer to difference in hardware or software.

Hardware.
1. Aidil hardware is DIY and is serial comm port i.e. RS232. You need a USB to Serial Converter to get the program running.
My cable is USB/Ediabas enable. There is no need USB to Serial Converter as it integrated in the cable itself. However, it cost more.
There are guys who got the serial cable for RM135. I got my cable for USD58 plus USD17 for freight (about RM232).
Aidil have pointed out there is a guy selling on ebay for USD17.00. You should check it out on his thread.

Software.
Scanner 1.4.0 is a friendly user program. You cant go wrong with it. However, it is considered a novice tool.
This scanner is more as an introduction to BMW diagnostic. Elementary recoding for certain module is available.
For EDIABAS cable, you can use GT1 or INPA program. The program are design for technician or engineer.
GT1 is based on UNIX OS. You have to use VWare to run it in Window OS.
INPA are window based program. There are hack program that allow the program to be run in Window 7 64 bits.

Comparing INPA and BMW Scanner, I find that INPA give more LIVE Data than Scanner 1.4.0. INPA is not
so user friendly so be careful with using this program.

i think i will start with the scanner 1.4.0 first...if don't have then i will try to mingle around the cheap but more advanced version.

No planning for this GB cos not many E90 or E60 people are interested. Some more price is not competitive lar.

No more spare scanner to sell cos all are order via GB.

Not planning to start to start another GB cos scare people might complain commercial postings.
