First gear is too heavy

The solenoid can be tested without dismantling the gearbox. Any workshop with proper diagnostic tool can test the solenoids.

There 6 solenoids there. All kong at the same time?

Owh.. if solenoid kong? whut's the prob? most prob i think all 6 kong.. just change gbox oil on friday.. flush it out yesterday.. it's all grey n dirty already.. does it becouse the solenoid kong? briefly mind to explain how the solenoid works.. if u dont mind...

do u know how much the solonoid will cost? second and brand new price.. thank u..

Solenoid kong? It used to kong. It is one of the factor affecting GB mechanical. Ive made known that solenoid is used to control ATF fluid supply to GB. But it is not necessary all solenoids are kong. Brand new per solenoid is around RM400. If all your 6 solenoid kong, 4x6 la. Become 2K++. As mine not all kong. So i dont have to spent that much.
BTW how yours chetz? Done edy? Mine still not assembled yet though parts are there. Mech is busy cost his best friend past away. Huhu..

hie bro,
went to w/shop on thursday.. somehow foreman has wrongly order the valvebody (solenoid).. it doenst match mine.. as my gb.. is 19" zf 325.. so had to re-order the parts again.. hopefully it'll be ready today or tommorow..
 
err.. need help from seniors...
how much the workmanship cost for 'turun gbox'... rought figure.. just curious.. coz e46 gbox can be taken out without jack up the whole engine aite..
 
I think you also have to remove the exhaust as well if you want to dismantle the gb.

Should be about 1.5 to 2 hours job.
 
Hi guys, sorry if I interrupt but I'm new in this and also new in driving my recond 525i ( 1 months ). I'm facing the same gear heavy problem ( at least I feels it ) .
When I accerelate my car it's ok but once it slow down and when it dropped to about 1K rpm ( persumed 2nd gear ) I'm feeling all the sudden the car became very heavy ( feeling like handbreak being pull or tire jammed ). The car move from start without problem ( move once release the break without any problem ), The car seems to be only heavy somewhere 2nd gear and not at higher gear or speed. Can anyone pls help to advis if it's NORMAL to behave like that or it's a problem to the GB ?

need opinion from your experience.. ive just service my valve body.. and change one solonoid which is kong edy.. car running perfectly as good as new.. but sometimes the gear monitoring indicator turns on.. whut i do is pull over.. switch off everything.. then restart my car.. then everything turns ok.. could it be sensor problem???

as posted my gbox picture.. luckly theres no mechanical failure on gearing.. last time it was the solonoid problem.. pls advice me on this.. i was told it could be the sensor problem.. but whut sensor.. need advice and help from sifus.. thank you...

p/s : i also having some liight switching problem.. which when i turn on my lights.. it doesnt flex up as usual.. whut could be the problem.. thank u..
 
Hi chetz. yours done already huh. Since u said that no mechanical problem to ur GB, there could be electrical problem i guess. and since ur headlight doesnt flex up as well, do check on electrical part...wiring maybe.. just my 1 cent opinion. Sifus know better. BTW how much cost you service the valvebody?

they havent do the billings yet..
coz at 1st i change the whole valvebody.. then it happens again.. then i ask foreman to take out the 2nd hand valve body.. so now using my bgox valve body... it just some service on the valve body... how bout ur car mate? hows the progress?
