how does it looks on an e36 ?? any pictures

No picture lar. That why I want to buy for my e36 but it should the same as CCFL.

CCFL dont have any shadow for the light but SMD LED have a shadow between the LED.

However from far, CCFL and SMD-LED look the same.

silly answer: they are surface mounted and very tiny. You got to have a very steady hand, good eye sight and a good solder gun/solder lead to do it. :top:

Normally, it is not the LED that is blown but more likely the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) are cracked or the copper tracked are damaged. :listen:. I usually repair with a single strand wire if I find that the copper are open circuit.

thanks you sir

2nd silly Q ...as you've mentioned that it's not the LED that's more likely to be blown out , but do you think it can happen too ??
If yes , are we able to replace just the LED with a steady hand etc ...?

LED can be tested without having to desolder it from the PCB by using a 3.0 V supply (cell battery).
yes, anything can break. could be also due to poor QC and manufacturing of the component.

and yes it can be replaced. only thing is where to get the replacement LED.. :listen:
