Hope to get ian invite. Cannot stand the waiting much longer for my 325i

Do you know what models are going to be offered? not geeting any reply form my SA

I read somewhere that is going to be a 320i, 323i and 325 sport and that the 323i version would share the same engine setup as the 523i

You haven't received an invite because the date is not confirmed yet RIKI. But they're targetting 22 Nov pending some stuff. Your expected model line-up is probably right.

With the exception of the nice curve lines on the bonnet, I prefer the pre-facelift model (looks more garang than the facelift model). Of course, assuming I haven't seen the interior.

On another note, JPB, did BMWCM get any invite for the launch?

Its interesting that the signature color in the facelift has changed from Sparkling Graphite to what appears as Arctic or Space Grey as seen in the brochures and invites.

I'll be registering for the Ingress Facelift 3 series launch on 22nd. Maybe we can get together and go check out the new car :)

Agree with you, the front seems a bit fussy with all those curves. But I think the rear of the LCI looks more garang than pre-LCI, although I wish they'd retained the distinctive white triangulars.

Need to see it in the flesh though, as photos don't project charisma. :p

Hahaha.... if they design the sedan rear to look like the above, they have to remove the rear doors, lower the rear roof line or else it will look like an Accord.. so which one do u want, the rear or the rear doors.. lol! :D

I personally think the new 2009 Accord design sucks big time, 4 doors, high extended rear roof line for the comfort of rear passenger, couple with a coupe liked low boot lid... and yes.. same thing goes with new A4. Camry's high boot lid looks a lot better!

The bottom line is u can't design a sedan's boot as if its a coupe.. it looks horrible IMHO..

Well, it's confirmed that the line-up is 320i/320i Sports @156bhp, 323i @190bhp and 325i Sports @218bhp. New colours for the Sports models include Blue Water, Alpine White, Space Grey and Le Mans Blue. :top:

Pricing details are still under wraps because that's the thing still awaiting approval from the authorities.

Schwepps

Colours for 323i ?

:7:

The previous colours lor...I guess. Don't even think about the 323i, get the 325i Sports RIKI. Why get the same engine and lose 28bhp? That's a lot of hp on the open road: 8.7sec to 100kmh vs 7.7sec. A lot!

Over my budget, :68:
and I hear that the ride maybe too hard.

Maybe I'll give it a try. Only tested the current 325i

RIKI, since I drive a 325i Sports, take it from me, the M-Suspension is not hard or harsh, eventhough the wheels are 18" 193s (which are IMHO the best looking of the BMW wheels) Petrol consumption has been unbelievable for the power too - my long term average is still 11.8l/100km! And no oil consumption. You won't regret going into deficit budget to get it, whereas I can bet you'll regret not having the extra 28hp when you become familiar with the car's awesome handling.

At 8.7s, you may have trouble with some of the faster japs. At 7.7s, you'll comfortably keep most road cars at bay. I find that all sorts of cars want to take me when driving my E90 on the open road. Most of the time I just hang back and let them buzz past. But once in a while I'll just tekan, double kickdown, and they'll know they don't stand a chance and give up immediately. It's great fun, and great for the soul when you've had a tough day. :top:

Test the facelift 325i Sports and 323i by all means, but think about what I said when you do bro. ;)

I hear what you say.
I also sometime tease lesser BMW's with my current Jap ride.
Back from work this evening a 1 series (118i I think) was trying very hard to shake me off on the Putrajaya highway. :)

While researching on the BMW ETK on brakes on our E90 325i, I noticed that the LCI E90 325i gets slightly bigger front brakes. 314mm vs 300mm (pre-facelift). Interesting..

Anyone else going this Sat morning to Ingress to check out the new LCI facelift. Heard that the new iDrive gets an 80GB HDD instead of DVD loads for maps, software etc. For Malaysian CKD E90s, maps loaded are MY, SG and TH by default. Also all LCI's are now assembled in Kulim and the parts come pre-painted from Germany. No more local paint job for new CKD LCI E90s. Definitely better for local buyers.

The facelifted units are no longer called CKDs (Completely Knocked Downs) but it is now known as SKDs (Semi Knocked Downs). Put it simply, the chassis is now assembled and welded in Germany before being shipped to Kulim to have the engine+gearbox, dashboard, carpet and etc installed.

Cheers :)

I wonder which plant the Chassis gets welded together, i.e. Thailand, Germany, South Africa etc? From a cost perspective, it would seem that BMW would source from Thailand (AFTA) or South Africa (ala Singapore).

I'll snap some pics of the LCI E90 weld points in the engine bay this weekend to suss out. So far the German build BMWs have different weld type (visually) compared to the South Africa or Local BMWs.

I tell you RIKI, even modded Myvis will tease me on the highway! :D Just blipping the pedal will keep them at bay. Only Type Rs, Evos, Imprezzas and such are hard to stay ahead of, but I wouldn't want to play chicken with them anyway.

If you're going to treat yourself to a Bimmer, go whole hog. Just my opinion though mate. ;)

Wow, interesting E46F! Look forward to your findings.

I heard about the upgraded iDrive too. Mine would be old hat compared to the new one. :(
