F30 320i versus VW GTI Mk6

Hi, just curious if anyone have compared the F30 320i versus VW GTI Mk6 in terms of performance and personal driving handling, not the size or exterior or price. feedback and opinions are highly appreciated. :top:

For the current F30 only 328i and 335i can outperform the GTi. 320D? no, not even close!!

i have a mk6 GTI and after test driving the 320i definitely GTI will win but not against the 328i or the 335i (this one can't even comparelah). In terms of finesse i give BMW the :top:

that's what i heard from a VW SA that GTI beats the 320i in highway and can go as peak as 250km/h, not sure how true.

what is the 320i top speed have you all hit so far?

my uncle has the GTI. i drove it before, i find that it feels like a very unrefined hot hatch. jerky as hell at low speeds. yes, acceleration, it will destroy the 320i.

however, in terms on refinement, its a no brainer that the 320i is boss.

however, if you want both refinement and occasional drag race wins, 328i is on the money.

335 would probably be, the sub M car if you cant afford the M3.

the quickest i've driven the 328i is 220km/h. suspension is too soft anything faster.

Both are different class car, one is top of range hot hatch (discounting the Golf-R la) and another is entry level sports luxury sedan. So what if they are of the same engine displacement but force induction boost level different ma.

The Mk6 GTI still felt front heavy and very nervous in the corners. For robber's get away car, the GTI is still the preferred ride. :108::ridinghorse:

The new 320i is on twin scroll turbo N20B20 but only:

184hp@5,000rpm, 270Nm@1,250-4,500rpb, 1,495kg, 8-speed auto, 0-100kph 7.6s,

versus

210PS@5300-6200rpm, 280Nm/1700-5200rpm, kerb weight 1,414kg, 6 speed DSG, 0-100kph 6.9s

RWD also has high overhead than FWD.

Very true, I have seen a Golf GTI going faster than 250km/h but definitely not a stock GTI. Even a stock Golf 1.4 can reach 220kmh quite fast.

Didn't know that the gti and the f30 were not that far off in weight. Then i would say on the road there is not much diff between the two, all up to the condition and situation. Most gti's are modded though.
