If I'm not mistaken, a normal engine oil & filter change at AB will cost you around RM 500 plus. Like what Rookie say, remember not to reset the OBC. Alternatively, you may try outside workshop like Benson Auto or the one at Jalan Ipoh whereby the mechanic (I will give you his name & contact thru PM if you need it) is doing it from his house and he is working with AB Segambut. He is experienced and price is ok too.

Hehehe. Ah Yau is Ok if you dont mind putting up with his tantrums.

You can buy parts from Inner Auto which is located 3 mins away and have them replaced by him....

I dont think he is working @ AB Segambut anymore though since he is at home most of the time.

I know Ah Yau since my E36 days 10 years ago.. long time didn't see him lio. Remember those days he actually cycle to work from his house.. :D while parking his single digit Silver E34 at home.. :D

I still have his contact.. :D

I try not to mention him in the forum because don't want to get him into troubles with his employer.. sensitive la.

yah... maybe will pay him a visit one coming weekend..

Yeah..facing same problem also with my ride. got these light failure warning about a week now but check all external light are okay.

Oh... do share how you got them resolved. You might opt to just leave it until the light actually kaput (on hindsight I should have done that) but have to bear with warning signal everytime you start your car, heh.

Aiks!! It's RM22 per bulb wohrrr... Anyways, I always bought the bulbs and replace meself. My fault for being lazy and getting it fixed at AB, even after I was told it's not covered.

Regardless of whether it was covered by BRSI or not, I would not have paid for bulbs that failed in less than 1 year of ownership...I didn't :burnout:

But seems to be a common problem for the E92s....speaking of common problems, anyone have dented door trims (brushed alumimium for the 335) because of the seat belt hitting the trim when you release it?

well, Ah Yau no longer works with AB Segambut. So, no worries. :)

He is a good man but darn, he is one mechanic who can screw his customers. I am one of them b4. :(

I like the way he answer his phone.

Me: "Hello! Ah Yau ah?"
Ah Yau: "No, why?"...

His "Why?" means "yes, I am him, don't ask dumb question and speak up!"

:D

Just my thoughts....

Even if he was the best mechanic around, i wouldnt send my car back to him. I dont think being good justifies an arrogant and rude approach. (he has not personally been bad to me though, but i think many forumers have had that experience).

There are plenty of reliable mechanics/workshops where you dont have to put up with "being put down" :)

cheers

I noticed little dings on my trims as well caused by the seatbelt release. There is another plastic piece which is slideable which I adjusted to push the metal latch higher up and now when i release the belt instead of it hitting the trim and creating a ding, it hits the padded B pillar. Hmm... pretty nasty belt mechanism, but this should circumvent the dings caused by the metal latch.

Mine was scratched by the seat belt metal latch too, just as what E46F did, I have adjusted it higher up. New owners beware!

Just did my first 10k service at AB Segambut with RM 450.10 .. Used Shell Helix Ultra and didn't reset OBC. Result - Engine smoother !

Why have to pay $$$? BSRI mah! urs 4-potter also ah?

I plan to do mine at 5k and 15k.. knowing the break in metal dust residue in my engine oil really haunting my sweet dream every night.. :(

Can I just walk in and buy the OEM oil filter from BMW ah? Dare not use 3rd party oil filter. Takut warranty void.. :(

I'm a bit puzzled by the first 10,000 kms service. When you get your cars, isn't the OBC set for first service at 10,000 kms? Cos that was indeed with my case (as I reported in another thread earlier). It was when I did my first service at about 7,000 kms that the OBC was then reset to 22,000 kms! I got another 16,000 kms to go before I hit that mark...

If I'm not mistaken, only the 6-potter E90 have the 1st 10k km service, followed by 25k km intervals.

The 4-potters have the 25k km service interval.

Yes, it is only 325i needs to do the first service at 10k kms and it is not stated in the OBC. Once you hit 10k kms, just go in for the first service and they will not reset your OBC. The next service is 25k kms and then the subsequent service interval is every 25k kms.

My 1st service was done at 8k km at SA, was charged only RM 11.31. Service included oil & filter change.

Oh, thanks for clarifying. In my case, the OBC when I collected the car was set at 10,000 kms. Anyways, I didn't pay a single sen for that service as the Service Advisor proudly showed the benefit of Service Inclusive. As for my second service, I'm gonna have to send it in earlier than what the OBC indicate after reading David's post, heh!

yes 320i 1st service on 25k km and 325i on 10k km.. so if u want to service ur 320i at 10k km then u have to bear the cost.. as for me i prefer to do it .. peace of mind :smokin:

hey guys, now that u all mentioned abt the dings on the door trim, I too noticed it ..damn, those nasty metal latch ! thanks for the hint...will try out the plastic slide on mine too.

I just had my first service at 8K km. But the next reset was 12K km. This means the next service is around 20,000km. Is this consistent with you guys? Mine is a 325 Sports
