Not in Malaysia - all 335s that arrived in Malaysia are manufactured in 2006 and that is what appears in the registration card. I think it works differently in the US

My point about arctic is that it is not really the silver that people are used to. I am not debating the different shades of silver. Plus, my view on arctic is mine. If JPB likes it, he likes it :)

On the procede, yeah, told shiv that it should be the same but just that we are running on higher octance. but like i said, he needs to sort out his production first...plus i have to get a car first :D

Car's model year doesn't correspond with Calendar year or DOB...the general rule of thumb is that fall 06 to fall 07 is MY07. So a 335i manufactured in October 06 is officially an '07 model.

On the Procede, give it some time. There are similar oufits developing a similar kit. I have to tell you the Procede really transforms the car, the exhaust rumbles deeper at idle but surprisingly at WOT the car sounds the same. Throttle response difference is almost night and day....

Does not work like that in Malaysia. In the states, it is a 07 model but in Malaysia, your registration card states year of manufacture and not model year. It is an important distinction cause one is effectively paying new car prices for a year old car

Well that blows, especially since these puppies takes 4-6 months just to get in...

I popped by AB Bukit Bintang this morning. They had a Space Grey / Black model on display but that has been sold. I like Space Grey the most. Then, I showed an E90 in Arctic and well, I can't live with it lah. I can understand why some ppl find it girly or too tame. Anyways, I changed my order to Sparkling Graphite. AB can't confirm the order change yet. The limited options are driving me crazy. The SG is a 2006 car but I'm gonna have to live with it since I'm planning to keep this car for a while.

Guys, sorry for being such a pain but if you were in my shoes, what would YOU choose? Arctic with Grey interior or Sparkling Graphite with Black interior?

Man you sound stressed heh.. A time like this should be a happy moment for you...

For me I'll take either, but I have a soft spot for Artic due to rarity and uniqueness.. But I've always also liked dark colored cars, and SG is my 2nd choice.

Interior colors, I'd pick black over grey as I've seen aged grey interiors and its much worse than black heh.

I would rather spend time deciding what new rims to buy and replace the stock standard ones. AS for exterior colors, can always re-spray to the ones you like. Its only 3K+ to get it done at Pro-garage and I bet you it will look better than the oem paint job :)

Yup, should rejoice rather than getting stressed out as what e46F said. :)

Don't worry about Artic or SG, since you have already said you already booked the SG with black interior. My personal preference would be SG and black interior. Grey or light-colored interiors can be a pain when it comes to getting dirty very easily

I personally got the Titanium Silver E90 back at the E90 launch in 2005 because I have owned dark colored cars before and it's a pain to clean. Scratches, etc can also be seen very easily. What to do, lazy bugger who cleans his cars once a week only mah ;)

Well, JP...I have to be honest with you, out of the 2 choices, I'd go with Sparkling Graphite on the E92. I am also not a big fan of grey interior, can't beat traditional black, although any of the 2 toned interiors (coral red and Jade grey) are nice too.

Don't get me wrong, I love Arctic but not 100% sure of it on the more sporty E92/93. Space Grey is my top choice for the coupe namely because its an E92/93 specific color. Sparkling Graphite is my 3rd choice after Montego Blue.

Here's some pics I took 2 days ago....

IMHO, the E92 body will still make you stand out of the E90 crowd, I don't think you have to worry about that.

AlBundy: I don't feel that respray on a brand new car should be an option, no matter how little you like the color.

JP...any cars with Coral red leather? What are the trims on the 323i E92s? Matte Titan, wood or aluminum?

I think the coupe calls for the bold coral red leather interior...I love it with aluminum or dark grey poplar wood.

Well, what I am saying is, just in case the color didnt turn out as to how JPB envisioned it to be, re-spraying is an option. I have seen a brand new e65 745 being resprayed as soon as the car left the dealer. So its no biggie.:)

I'm not inclined to respraying either. I just went to see the E92 at AB Segambut with Sparkling Graphite-Black combo and it looks GREAT! Fortunately, it was parked near an Arctic E90 320i Touring. I came to the conclusion that it would be fantastic if I manage to get the change to SG but if I've to settle for the Arctic I already ordered, then it's not too bad too. The salesguy I spoke to ranked SG-black as his first choice and said Arctic-Grey combo might be hard to sell later as well as grey interior being more prone to discolouring in our weather.

KL2DC, I don't think BMW brings in the coral red as ready stock. It has to be custom ordered for which a booking now will only follow production in April 2007 and arrival in July 2007. That's a long wait.

Anyone got good high res pics of the coral red interior?

I have an affinity for red leather interiors ;)

Juan, polls and statistics on popular colors are important but these should not influence your final decision..

btw, i would go with SG with black int...:)

Red leather is sooo sexy, perfect for the coupe. Best paired with silver, graphite, black, white and space grey. Space grey/coral red/grey poplar wood is the most exclusive E92 combo and was the very one BMW sent out as a debut/launch preview cars.

Yeah, the red leather looks stunning but I dunno how long that novelty will last if I'm the car owner. I would've loved the white interior with Space Grey or Sparkling Graphite but yet again, there's no stock in Malaysia at the moment. There's one thing for sure though. By pricing the CBU E92 so close to CKD E90's top end 6-potter, a lot of E92s are getting picked up. I can recall the CBU E90 325i without Sports Package going for being for RM318K just about 8 months ago i.e. only RM20K difference from the E92 price now. That's the sick thing about buying BMWs! The constant engine line-up changes, spec levels, pricing, facelifts etc etc etc.

Of the 3 showroom E92s I saw in AB Glenmarie, Bukit Bintang and Segambut, all have been snapped up pending registration while AB Sg. Besi informed me today that their only Space Grey showroom E92 was just delivered to its new owner. I guess its great looks which is now so distinctive from the E90 is really catching a lot of people's eyes. As E46F will tell ya, I was all set to get the E90 SP but changed my mind cos everytime I go to the showroom, I always spend more time looking at the E92. Then, it hit me! Why don't I just take the plunge and go for it. I suppose it's about being 35 this year (smack in mid life category) and still a swinging single, hehehehe!

JP, I'm with you, the E92 is prettier eventhough imho, the E90 is more agressive. The E92 also feels more sporty, you sit lower in the car. Too bad you don't have the MT option, in the E92, I found the linkage to be more robust/fluid than on the E90.

JPB,

I completely get your drift and agree on your take of the Artic color. Somehow here in Msia, that color makes the car look sissy/girly etc. (no offence to Artic owners) When I was deciding on color I was in the same delima, but it was btw Monaco Blue and SG. I too found that SG was getting too common, but at last decided that MB was very near to black and very difficult to maintain. Artic was not even on my list the minute I saw to car at AB in daytime.

For the interior, my previous ride had biege leather and man it was tough to keep clean. So what did I end up with, SG with black leather. Was worried about black being hot in our climate but to date I find this not to be an issue. (with Vkool tint of course)

To me the awesome color for E92 wld be Space Gray! Saw a few when I was down under and my next fav color wld be Montego Blue. Dont they have these colors as options here in Msia??

Well, the other issue following my last post is this, I now have to spend more than RM20K on lowered suspension (15 mm drop specified on 335i would be nice) plus 18" rims and new tyres. Then there's the rear spoiler plus additional tinting. By the time I'm done, the car could well be in the RM360K plus category. That's what would get me a pristine 2005 E46 M3?!! Heck, I better get over this mid life crisis quick!
