To insure windscreen at RM 4,000, you need to pay a premium of RM 600 per annum. So... do a calculation yourself :)

I must be behind the times. When I first bought my E46 6 years ago, the first year, the salesladay slapped on all the options on my insurance incl windscreen coverage for RM500 per year for something like RM2k windscreen insurance. So I did the math and promptly took this option out in the 2nd year :). Times have changed I guess.

Yeah, the insurance premium is calculated at 15% of the insured amount. Say RM 4,000, the premium rate is 15% i.e. RM 600. This is standard across all insurance companies.

what is the new going price of the sports edition then?
and used?
how about naza? i'd prefer naza ones.

thanks

I was unfortunate to be the recipient of a crack (4 inch) + stone chip while I was on the NKVE. The strange thing was that I wasn't following any lorries or buses. Anyway, while I was minding my own business I hear a very loud crack from the front passenger side, and show the crack + chip :stoned:

I was divided between changing the entire windscreen and repairing it. Having experienced the type of service I received from AB, I decided to try repairing it 1st. I went to Mechanix in PJ Sect 17 and it costed me RM170. Overall it's a pretty good job, but the crack line is still visible at certain lighting conditions and viewed from a certain angle. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the job done and would high recommend others to this place. :top:

I just went non-RFTs...

Get either the Continental Comfort kit or the OEM Mobility kit, I'm ordering one as we speak at USD89.60 pick up at local dealer.

Sifu's,

1)Can someone please educate me as to what is actually contained in these kits?

and

2)if they are available locally and where?

Thxs

Generally speaking, the kit is a sealant.

The question is, do you apply it direct to the area which is leaking or thru the air pressure nozzle ?

You can pick up the conti-kit locally from Edward - 013 2722120.

Although beemers3 and some of the other chaps have suggested going to "brothers" and buying their kit for under RM50-00

bimmer910 and bmrocket.

I believe the RM50 kit is just a pressurised can and sealant and use it once only. While the Conti kit and Mobility Kit comes with a can of sealant and an electric pump 12v connect to cig lighter.

Can't remember but their are 2 types of sealant and one is better than the other. All the sealants are pumped in via the tire valve.

Thxs guys,
I'll give Edward a call..
Does the OEM Mobility kit come from BMW or is it a Conti OEM?

Spoke to Edward..
The kit comes with a compressor n chemical sealant which is pumped in via the tyre valve n seals the leak..
He's waiting for his shipment to arrive and will call me when it does..no pricing yet tho....

M mobility kit is a latex sealant and air compressor. A comparable item (that I know of) is the Conti-kit, which is also latex sealant.

Its important to note the latex sealant as the silicone sealant is a b*tch to clean off your wheels after use. Trust me, your tire shop will thank you. Also you want to be sure your wheels are clean so your balancing is not affected.

Keep in mind that no sealant/compressor in the world can save you from a cracked rim total puncture.
