haha..Astroboy, u can consider changing those hose i mentioned. When the mechanic show me the old hoses, it is kinda like 40-50% blockage....see oso scared. But i jus wonder wat makes it block, for a 3 yr old BMW. Mechanic says its normal wor...wear n tear. So, i m expecting to change those again in future :eek:

Bro! What oil u use and what's your oil change interval?

I jus got the car 2 mths ago as 2nd hand and immediately service it. The engine oil is called Bluesky by UMW (fullysynth), recommended by a w/shop in tmn mayang. Till now, i've driven around 4K km. During the replacement of hose and gasket recently, the SC notice the engine oil is very dark n thick. He says engine oil does affect FC. So, i plan to change the engine oil with him soon. At least to a proper one compare to the current so-called Bluesky (dunno wats tat, felt like kena conned). Petrol wise i use RON97.

Mine's a E90 320i... I usually go at least 200km/h once every day.... I would classify my driving pattern as 'safely agreesive'.... I travel mostly between KL- Mid Valley, Damansara, PJ.... full tank RON 97 gives me minimum 550km (usually still have at least 50km more according to ODM before I refuel) ... best record was 680 km per tank (my dad was driving my car while I was oversea)... I'd tried RON 99 (V Power Racing) and although FC was not much of improvement (still less than 600 km), but the power is better than RON 97...

Wow...tats a very impressive figure u got thr. Hope mine can achieve tat too, after all the money i spent on repairing it.

Try to enquire with Ingress Auto. I last heard they carry a Castrol product called Castrol Flush Oil, unlike conventional engine flush, this Castrol Engine Flush oil is a kind of engine oil that you actually run with it for period of time rather than minutes.

Good luck!

Guys,

Let me share you some shocking story that happened to my beloved E90 323i recently. I got my car early this year, and now it has clocked 22000km. The fuel consumption reading since I got the car was 12.xx liter/100km. Last 2 weeks, when I started the car in the morning, the engine felt like it was running on 5 cylinder. No fault code what so ever appears from iDRIVE.

So decided to drive the car anyways to Ingress. Reached there, and fair enough the engine was diagnosed as mis-fired. So they cleared the faults, and reset the memory.

Since that event, my engine rev smoothly, better response, and even giving me better consumption. To my suprise, the consumption now is 9-10l/100km. No matter how agressive my throttle is, the max that I've gotten so far is 10.7l/100km...

So guys, not sure if its a true reading, or my fuel system is already kaput..

Fact proven: 6-potter E9x is a much more fuel efficient car than the 4-pot cousins.

bro, where did u get the v power racing ron 99? singapore is it?

Also in which part of KL- Mid Valley, Damansara, PJ do you hit 200km/h once every day? Do share.

SMART tunnel?

lol... just kidding.... :)
I can't even hit 180 in smart tunnel....

might be a bit confusing... just landed back to KL... I gotta go look up the road name again... it's the stretch after you exit the highway from MV towards Bangsar (passing thru the science center, KLSE etc)... u just step on it before u come down the hill after the toll B exit...

VPower Racing here is RON97. Interesting that you can hit 200kmh on Kerinchi Link/Jalan Mont Kiara. or even 180 in the SMART tunnel. I think even Ferraris would have trouble doing that. I wouldn't call that 'aggressively safe' driving by any stretch. :)

there's 2 type of V Power.. 1 is the green one at 2.15 and the red one at 2.4something if the price have not went up... I gotta look up my receipt again on the price... so are you saying both are oso RON 97 and not like SIngapore where the VPower Racing is RON98/99??

Can't reach 180 in SMART tunnel.... it's even so hard to reach 160 nowadays after they added more and more of those stupid stick at the exit part... most cars slow down too much too early upon exit nowadays due to those stupid plastic stick in the middle of the road acting as 'divider'.....

There's this common symptom found from those who complain about high FC. Ask those who did the drive last weekend to Kluang to see how good or bad are their FC.

Decarbonization helps. :D

What's your mileage? How often u did 200kph? maintain that speed for how long?

how to decarbonize?

Further for the record, V-Power 97 is normal ULG 97 with V-Power Racing additives. V-Power Racing is the real V-Power which is a different base fuel from normal ULG. Both are RON97.

And the speed limits in SMART and Kerinchi Link are 60 and 80 kmh...for a good reason.

Tekan full throttle for a good several minutes and repeat the same when the road is clear again for a 2~3 hour highway run under good weather condition with good visibility..

damn.... kena conned by Msia marketing tim..... lesson well learnt here.... don't assume Msia give u the same thing even if the packaging & marketing is the same with other countries....

puteh puteh pay 30 cents extra per litre for dunno how long liao....

u seriously drive 60km in SMART? it's so hard to even 'control' ur speed at 120km in there....
of course, it's easier to control ur speed at 80km in Kerinchi link when u know roadblocks are ahead... :)
