Not sure if this is the correct model for you. The manual is here, look under E39, the Manual at the bottom of the page.

Planning to get a Japan full spec E39 525i 2001/04.
Can all sifu here advice on what to check before buying the car? the condition is quite well maintained 8 out of 10.

Here are a few questions in my mind :

- How to check if the mileage have been tampered ?
- How to check whether the gearbox is in good condition ?
- How to check whether the shaft (engine to the rear wheel) is in good condition ?
- How to receive local radio station using the japan's radio (it have booster installed already) ?
- And what would be the recommended buying price for this car?

Thanks guys! Hope to join the club soon!

Due to idling issues and fuel/air issues, I changed the above plus the oil valve and many other stuff.
O2 sensor bought in SG. Saved a lot of money.
Also changed the air filter, micro-filter too.

GBox filter and coolant tank bought but will change end of year.

I got the prices but not with me now.

Yeap, this is one of the culprit that causes rough idling. I replaced mine about 3 months ago. It's the round circular thingy known as crankcase oil separator. There's a rubber diaphragm in it that when it's torn, air leak is present thus causing rough idling.

ala idling and SES light came out... said irregular fuel/air mixture occasionally...happily driving around today and the SES light came out again!!! arghhh

Front RM 165 and Rear RM 125. Try Bavarian Auto, SS2 or Suan Huat in Sea Park

how good are textar brakes? better than Originals?
bro,
I have used both original and Textar before but could not really "feel" the difference. Both performed up to expectations and lasted about the same period too. But the price was doubled! That I can feel :top:

Chief, how's your brake project? You were deciding to either replace your disc or just pads? How did it go?
