change and bought 275/30/19 falken F452 tires x2 at rm940/pcs

front rotor/disk trw brand- rm160/pcs
front brake pad textar -rm 140/set

diy. the rotor and brake pads on my car still usable, at least 6-12 months of normal usage but the rotor need skimming. i change it anyway as a PM. alsoits a good idea to buy/change the holding bolt 8mm size as its easily stripped if overtighten by over ambitious mechanic. mine is stripped but still usable. for info, the brake fluid reservoir is on the driver side (RHS) and not left. good idea to access it b4 start removing the caliper as u compress the piston to install the new pad, maybe somefluild will overflow from the reservior. also for note, the bolt holding the caliper bracket is 18mm and not 17/19mm as in e30 or e34. weird size ...

any1 looking for use rotor n brakepad can pm me cheap2...

changed driver side central locking actuator. rm177. diy. the old actuator doesnt lock with fob, only with keys. removal is tricky as u need to wiggle the actuator out. first u have to lift it up as much as possible as theres three skinny metal post that secures the actuator in place. push theactuator up then pull it out. will post pic later to show u wer the metal post reside inside the actuator body.
reinstallation of the new actuator in was HARD. trust me. after much wiggling, swearing etc.. was managed to get it in. took me 2 hrs from start to finish jus to get the new actuator in place. but seeing my central lock driver side responding to the fob command..priceless.... resetting the faultcode and program the door to lock once the car drives... wunderbar...:top:

edit: add pics for actuator

as u can see fm 2nd pic, the 2 red circle is wer the metal post will fit in, the arrow is for the lock mechanisme post. this plastic slider will move/slide to lock-unlock ur door. the 3rd pic is the internals of the actuator. the black color thingy is the microswitch housing.

Hi Jerman,

I bought the ATF oil from IP...RM35 for 1 Litre..

Seems too cheap to be the correct oil for e39 auto box, unless yours is manual gearbox. If yours is an auto, I think you should check this carefully or you cud be changing the gearbox soon.

Apparently was told that Vaico is the same as ZF. Only the packaging is different, that is why the price is such. I was recommended this by First Div. who apparently has sold many to workshops and owners. Do keep us posted on the condition of your vehicle after the oil change.
