Next sunday, OK by me. FYI, I have no experience with your headlight. If you dont mind that we DIY together and learn from the mistake.

BTW, others are welcome to come to look-see at well.

I surrender..

After a few hours try to open the lens, i think i am failed.

Just check my headlight which mfg on year 2005 by Hella, the seal should be some kind of epoxy, even i put them into oven, i still can not managed to open the lens.

The spare headlight which i opened last week is mfg on year 2001, so the seal is different with my headlight.

Nw looking another way to replace the adjuster..

after 2003 Hella replaced the seal material from the black gloop to epoxy. so is really hard to open. Might wanna try the other method without opening the lenses which was on a thread in this e39 forum

Cool.

Just managed to replace the adjuster!

Dismantled the whole headlight and wipe them in-and-out every corner.

Outcome is perfect!

Cheers.

Why are there 2 red vertical lines??

Hahh, that's rubber band. I use them temporary before i confirm everything is working and seal the lens.

No problem, bro.

Hi All,
I hv the facelift AE lights with dead/broken adjusters. I managed to dismantle everything except to seperate the lens from the housing. I don't hv an oven big enough to heat the light. Can the adjuster be replaaced without splitting the lens/housing? Or maybe someone out there is nice enough to show me how to split them, I can meet up.
thanks
Mike

ask bimmer 73 he is good at it,i got mine done from him

Bimmer73,
How about giving some pointers on how to change adjuster without splitting the lens/housing?

the first lamp took me 6 hours on my very first attemp. now pro already. 45mins. RM 500 for both headlamps is a drop in the ocean compared to a pair of new headlamps

Hi Bimmer73,

In case you are dropping/passing by Penang, please PM me. I need your help with the adjusters.

Thanks,
Neoh
