This is so sad, a tragedy. The least we can do is to learn from it, I have been shopping around an extinguisher for my car. Any good recommendations or perhaps we should start a group buy. Imagine Akina and other passersby have FE in their car , a life could have been saved.

there is a shop selling fire extingushers where BlueGreen workshop is will ask them if they are keen..

committee, can proceed on it ?

i think 'Fire Extinguisher' is the buzzword for now... However, the size is what put off many from getting one.. the mini ones are usually the wet type, not much help but good to place in the cabin. can mount on the passenger side, at least can keep the small fire at bay.. as for the bigger one (dry powder). can mount it in the boot... This one for real fire...

Pussy, are you referring to the company FireFighters ? I am a friend of the owners, I should pay them a visit.

u cant blame BHP, its a franchise by an individual owner. but at 3.20am, i'm not suprised the attendants didn't open the door. with the amount of thefts and rempits going on, if u were holed up in the station, u wouldn't open the door for anything. but its sad when it comes down to society living in fear. if u want to blame anyone, blame the powers that be for making society the way it is today.
my 2 cents...

Just Imagine if the burning girl was someone you love. Would you help her. Eventhough your job is at risk.Everyone of us is lack of social caring. We are selfish. i can't imagine living in such a society like this.
It is obvious that the policment is no where to be found. Probably there are sitting in their nice air con office , or god forsaken know what actually they are doing. Ask this again , to whoever out there, if this happen to your love one , what will you do ?
One thing for sure, if the deceased is some VIP...i'll bet those 3 idiot petrol attendance will have their name wipe out from this world. Only god know what will happen to them... it the burning girl happen to be some VIP's love one...This is Malaysia Boleh..

Good to see there is a group buy for Fire Extingushers.

Can i make a request that this is mounted INSIDE THE CABIN rather than to have in the trunk. Reason? If you have a multiple pileup and ur rear boot is all smashed in - u likely cannot open ur boot to retrieve the FE.

For this reason - u need a FE with a good clamp type retainer so the FE dun drop out of its mounting when u drive or brake....yikes! I think the brand Frefighters may have a good clamp for the 1kg type.....it has yellow lever, if my memory serves me right.

Yes - i have one under my passenger seat ( with a custom mount plate ) and for my my wife's car, under the driver's seat.

Be prepared - as Lord Baden Powell's motto said. ( Founder of the Scout Movement )

I have managed to contact the owner of Fire Fighter Industries, I am getting the details including the picture which I will post later today. The FE retail at RM65 and above, I can get for less than RM60 depends on the number of units.

Anyone interested ?

Bro Pussy, who shall organize the group buy ?

Do we have info on the OEM fire extinguisher (dry/wet?), and how it's mounted in the cabin? I remember seeing one in a BMW accessories brochure a few years back.

Ian, the 1kg is good enough and often used in a race car.. it comes with a bracket.. it's quite large, hence it might be probelm below the seat or transmission tunnel.. it can be put in the trunk also..

Ian, please PM me the details.. i will do the group buy..
Of course, if the committee allows it, under the club group buy..

PM me with the contact person to meet.. maybe can ask them to do a Fire Clinic for the members..

What say all ?

Bro pussy,

If you wanna make a group buy for this, I want one. Count me in.

Thanks.

the halons are poisoneus for us, thus can't be installed in our cars, ... i checked with the fire extingusher, the 1kg is for all fire..somemore, it's his own opinion on FE.. we can't afford it here..
even the Co2 is good, but can't be fitted in our cars.. even FM200 is for IT rooms, is out of the way..
i have being keeping a 3kg in my house till today and a 500ml in my old WKJ, but someone stole it..
so far so good..

Good idea bro but just curious ... wouldnt their Fire Clinic be biased as they want to promote their products.

Can Bomba do the clinic instead?

Updates...

i found this type of extingusher for sale, small and meets the car requirements..

i think it's RM48.00 plus in some supermarkets or in brothers..

any comments ?

I got this one in my car. The slack part about it is that it doesn't have a pressure gauge.
