i wonder why the current SPOTLIGHT is on BHP...not the vios driver...

everyone seems to be blaming BHP attendants for not lending the extinguishers...but...who caused that accident at the first place? I don't think we can blame the attendants for being afraid of robbers etc right?

and public is questioning why extinguishers are kept indoors after hours? halo? what if the extinguishers were stolen? who has to pay for the replacements?

It's common sense that anything that can be sold would be taken away, it's just a matter of when.. So it's understandable that the fire extinguishers are placed inside after 12 midnite. So that in the event of a fire, they can still grab the extinguishers, placed near the door, to put out the fire... Leaving it outside is inviting the desperate thief to just drive in and take them away.. And when that happened, no more extinguishers to put out the fire when it really happened.

exactly....understand our current living conditions first, and you will know why things are the way it is. if you're earning rm800 a month as a petrol kiosk operator, would you risk life and limb and open the door? and why everything valuable is kept indoors.

i find it funny seeing ppl still blaming the attendants and BHP.

i think the police and public to be blamed for such incidents .... such accidents still happen as the action from police / bomba / ambulance is still slow ...and as for the public, the stand and watch attitude is still there ...

try calling 999 and see by yourself what sort of questions they ask you ....and by then the person who could be save too couldn't be saved ....

well can't really blame the vios driver, nor the myvi driver ..it happens to be at the wrong time and wrong place ..OR IT COULD BE A THIRD CAR involvement that would had caused this .. :)

the famous LDP crash just after the sunway toll , TILL TODAY ALSO CANNOT BE SOLVED ...and even worse the tarik kereta guys took the cash , handphone and what so not ..and never even showed up to return back .victim was still alive and the ambulance took 1~2 hours to reach the scene whereby sunway medical center was just 500m away from the spot ......and even worse when the police took a twist and told us that there was another car that fleed the scene .. and none of the LDP camera's are viewable ... so want to boycot using LDP ka ??

my 2 cento

the 3rd car usually driven fast without lights and at times can't even see the number plates ..seen once at federal highway rempitting to cause an accident ....

Maybe we should also take into account what instructions the attendants were given by the Station Owner on procedures during the night...the attendees definitely would've received strict 'instructions', since petrol kiosks have always been targetted by robbers etc... definitely there would've been threats of termination and pay deductions for any losses suffered by the kiosk owner...definitely...

...the station was equipped with CCTV... Could easily check if akina was alone or with a band of robbers...

Just put it this way... If it was me I would have asked akina to stand a few feet away , quickly open the door to put 1 or 2 extinguishers out and quickly close the door.

Well said...use all available resources to asses the situation before making any judgement...dumbass attendant

easy say than done, to claim loses for assets take few years. even after been robbed and with CCTV prove and police evidence, still take a year at least to pay back. few hundreds for a fire extingusher, if left it outside in the night, it will just taken by anybody......

Yep, there's issues on all sides...so blame cant be on one party, but on all parties involved... directly and indirectly... probably even on you and I... Life's never in black and white...there's a whole huge grey area in between...

Sorry, without wanting to read all 8 pages, I wanna ask 2 simple questions.

- Why does Akina Teo or any passerby car not have fire extigusher. Its RM75....compared to a poor girl's live. How many times, does this has to happen?

- if door look, and I trust is glass, DRIVE YOUR DAMM CAR THRU! or throw a rock to shatter door to get the extigusher out. If police case, deal later. Can?

Yes, its all hindsight - easy for me say all this but better we discuss this so in future we all know what OPTIONS we have when a similar emergency happens. Another life could also be in your hands.....

Yeah, I would boycott BHP....but that wun solve a thing.

alright, just for a tho. just had a meeting with Caltex Dealers in JB sites. they all agree and suggest by me to put at least one FE outside in the mid-night to avoid such incidents happen nearby. So guys, if really need one then look for caltex station around jb. anyway, i already further the suggestion to nationwide caltex stations, hope this will help next time, just my 2 cents.

Have been for the last 1 year. Some friends who used to play turbo cars said Caltex has a more complete burn compared to other brands. Whether it's true or not I don't know la cause it's not like my friends are petrol experts anyway. I do get better mileage with Caltex compared to Shell.

Jules, no point boycotting BHP. The person the blame lies with is the Vios driver cause he/she is the one who started the chain of events that ultimately claimed the girls' life.

actually Caltex petrol with Techron is the cleanest fuel so far in world wide, once caltex put this statement, shell file a lawsuit against it by compare to V-power, but after a whole year lab test n on road test, caltex won the case. So, till today Techron is the cleanest addictive in fuel products. Once the engine clean definately more power lor.....but cleaniness is what techron do not power
PS: V-power got higher octane rating.
