the killer is not the BHP attendants. It is those that caused the accident. Let's be clear on this one.

But the attendants can be accessories.

Salut

Boycott BHP at Taman Pertama, Cheras.

I think I've seen some extinguishers outside, near or along the pumps. Not sure about BHP though. Anyone?

But i know as for stations near my place, the extinguishers are removed n placed inside after 11pm. (Shell n Petronas)

All petrol stations will move their fire extinguishers inside when they shutdown for the night, even those 24 hr ones.

I'm going to start carrying around a small fire extinguisher in my car from now onwards. Bought 2 last time for the house, they're pretty cheap around RM60 each. Maybe you guys should consider that too for safety reasons. :)

maybe a group buy ?

better be safer than sorry, and so many cars are being burnt on the road this days.. especially the ferrari's..

Wah u got fellali arr?

Hope the girl rest in peace...and i think the world is still existing becoz some good ppl like the person above are still living here...i had just became blur for a sec after thinking about what the victim had gone through...The person tried his best even he couldnt save her..RESPECT!

Theres many cases in early hrs where group of young guys with their kenari, vios or whatever common ppl mover driving like sportscar and end up jumping the divider and hit innocent oncomers...use to have many drug and alcho test after 2am but nowadays even weekend theres nothing..traffic police has to curb this drivers under influences..

Like in the state of Michigan where even a passenger cant hold an open can of beer while the car move..At Texas i got searched and went through hassle just bcoz i had an opened can in the car and im not even driving that time just a passenger.. Once my aussie mate was locked up for 2 weeks ,fined USD 10k and life banned from entering USA just because he knocked a car from behind and he was pissed..but here i guess most of us had done this before hehe! too much boleh lar here need more ghee for those who are disobeying..

just my 2 cents lar ok!

and about having fire extinguishers in the car and home kitchen, i really SOKONG! its a must

Happy weekend guys and happy school holidays for the kids and teachers..drive carefully !

morning dudes....
lesson learnt....
maybe we shud all equip ourselves with an extinguisher in our UDM boot?
better than depending on others sometimes.
cheers!

Better to have one securely mounted in the cabin instead of in the boot... then again, the small can can't spray much in the event of a big fire...

I agree that the the blame is solely on the Vios who apparently caused the accident. As for the attendants, can't put blame on them cause it's an unsafe world after the clock strike 12. They can't see the fire, so it's difficult to tell whether it's genuine or someone trying to be funny.. If i'm working graveyard shift, I'll be very, very cautious as well.

It's unfortunate that the crime rate has made everyone suspicious and in this case cause the life of the girl...

Nope not me neither here nor anywhere and I believe the situation is the same with many in this forum.

I got an extinguisher next to my seat, best place for it really.

As Loafer suggested earlier, get one and put it in your car.

not a good idea to douse some water in a burning flame especially if it is a petrochemical one, unlike the fire engine's water hose, which releases a stream of high pressure water unto the flame which works to blanket oxygen to the flame as well as bringing down the temperature of the surrounding area, but if it was a petrol station on fire, you would see alot of foam being released into the fire

a large blanket to cut-off oxygen supply to the flame is the cheapest solution, or some sand if available

different types of fires require different methods of supression

some fire extinguishers have specific targeted flame to supress , the general type would be the power type which may not be sufficient for a whole burning car, unless you have been trained to extinguish fires with minimal tools available

get those that are refillable , cost a bit more but there is a gauge stating the pressure of the extinguisher that needs to be refilled once it drops to a certain level, usually last 2 years before it needs re-gassing

imagine that when you need to use it , the foam just trickles out like a weak water tap

i wonder why the current SPOTLIGHT is on BHP...not the vios driver...

everyone seems to be blaming BHP attendants for not lending the extinguishers...but...who caused that accident at the first place? I don't think we can blame the attendants for being afraid of robbers etc right?

and public is questioning why extinguishers are kept indoors after hours? halo? what if the extinguishers were stolen? who has to pay for the replacements?

simply bcoz those fire extinguisher could have made the diff... a life could have been saved!!!

i wonder how many of us would open the doors of our house at 3.30am in the morning when a stranger knocks for help and assuming you have had experienced robbery before (assuming BHP MD's explanation that the attendants have been robbed before is true)?
