KL2DC and David Yong: Thanks for adding me to the list and the welcome message. Anyways, I have contacted BMW Malaysia to check for availability of the body cover. According to them, the part number is in the computer, but they do not as yet have the price. Maybe, will hear from them tomorrow. Thanks again for the info.

Regards

mcarim: good luck with your car cover search. Will check on alternative quality products as assesed by BMW CCA and other enthusiast groups.

In the meanwhile you may want to check with ebay or similar jsut to make sure you're getting the best price possible. If I know the stealership, they'd most likely rape you with exhorbitant pricing.

I got the OEM E90 car cover and the cable lock for less than USD150 from e-bay!

I got the car only last week so if there's any electronic bugs I hv not seen them yet...no list given by AB Glenmarie. They changed all 4 RFTs, Pirelli euphari@ 255/40 RR 225/45 FR, all door rubber linings/seals inc. trunk & bonnet and battery (claimed by AB cannot cfm by me).

Electrics are fine so far. My only complaints upon del- couple of minor rusty spots and one of cup holders not functioning maning stuck!!!

Other than that the 218 horses is serving me well....withing running-in limits!!

Glad to see more E90 owners in this forum. Wow...new car got rusty spots?? Where are they are located?

This one is abit peculiar, when I collected the car, its only got 70 km on the clock but the car was basically manuf in Jul 05 so its new but old!!!

Very minor rust, one in key hole drv door handle and the other under bonnet on opening lever assembly. Hardy can be seen by naked eyes but after plonking RM270 grand on it...you will chk inch of your newly acquired toy.

Macheet,

So no info abt respray then, as I heard some forumers claiming the cars were damaged by acid rain, but as I know the cars at the port still had some protection sheet (not sure as only told by SA, and you know how much you can trust them). Since the cars have been exposed to our rain and sun for sometimw now, are there any creaks, rattles that you can hear off esp the dashboard, roof lining etc. So you went for the Monaco Blue, I actually really like that color but chickened out, afraid can't maintain it so goin for SG. TiAg a little bit too common for me, as it seems that every other car on our Msia roads are silver.

The funny thing is when I tested the 320 it felt bumpier than the 325 which has lower profile tires. So they are giving Pirellis eh? Do you find the ride ok? I presume the rims are 161 right? Did you do any tinting? I have always tinted my cars, but heard that some tints have increased in price.

Cheers and safe driving

Hi danc, missed the paint bits. No, they did not re-paint/sprayed my unit. But the coating looks/feels reasonably in good condition. Mine is in Black/black actually so any paint defects will be very obvious.

Definitely no creaking sound. Yeah, I need to get used to the Pirellis and this whole RFT set-up (and the active steering). Not vety kind to your kidneys on rough surface... Ride on my prev E46 is definely better but handling is just out of this world on the new one.

Visit to AB scheduled at 10k, will (again) demand the list from them then...

Cheers

Guys, picked up my new ride 36hrs ago, SG 325i.

Was disappointed that the rims were 159s. The SA said all ckd models were being delivered with this type of rims. I liked the 161s better but she said can't change!

Rang up BMW Malaysia and spoke to a guy in Customer Services. Pointed out that the sales material all showed the car was to come with 161s and mixed size rubbers. He agreed and has arranged to swap the 159s for the 161s by the end of the month.

Perseverance counts!!! Can't wait for my rims to come!!

(My first post, but I have been a lurker for a while; hopefully be more active now)

In fact the 161 rims are only for the first 120 unit of CKD. That was what told by the SA to me when I have my car. It was wrongly ordered by them (I mean the 161 rims). I think you better confirm this again as I was told there no way you can change the rims fro 159 to 161.

Just called the guy at BMW Malaysia to confirm. Definitely arrangements have been made. I will get a set of 161s from CBU car (unused) in exchange for my current wheels. I pointed out to them that all the brochures and web pages specified 161 rims and that what they were doing was misleading. Whatever the reasons, I have been promised a set of new (ish) 161s with mixed tyres by the end of the month! Or there will be hell to pay!!

Just called my SA at AB to query her about this matter of 161/159 rims. She says that there was rumour that the rims for the CKD were meant to be 161s, but they botched up the order for the first lot of CKD cars. That's why they all got 159s. The next lot should have 161 rims and mixed tyres as specified in the brochures. If this rumour is true!
