I went to Lim Tayar at TTDI, I will never go back again. Lately, too many instances of all sorts of excuses to 'get you car right'. My brand new 325 went for alignment, came out with an almost RM400 bill. This was out, camber was out la ... I dismissed it because I thought ok, only one time. Before that with my Myvi, they called back to say "Tayars (2) bengkak, should change." Went to see how bengkak, they put on the balancing machine, spun it and then say, "See see the tyre edge is not fully aligned." Yup ... sure, all tyres are PERFECT right? Another time with my Lancer, the tyres were still very good (75%), very slight wearing of the outer thread. Told me I should change it.

Lim Tayar at TTDI is bad news as far as I am concerned. They will fleece if necessary.

I can understand how you are feeling. Those people are dishonest. There are many of this kind of shops everywhere including here in Penang. Thanks for sharing and warning us. We just need to clarify and ask first before we ask them to do anything, or else we will be charged unknowingly.

Any recommended workshop to go in Penang?

Tried a few in PG and BW but nothing to shout about. Thanks.

Lim Tayar TTDI was never like that many years ago. My past dealings with the one in Sri Hartamas was very pleasant. Most honest.

lim tayar tmn tun is waaaaay crazy price..imagine the balancer metal the small besi charge rm8 per metal..i was like ...wow 1st time in life i was charged on this item..ingress suggested will NOT go back

Bukan main ... I buy that for my hobby, most expensive also RM2.50 a strip, can get at RM1.50 also. Last time went to align my Lancer GT they told me fixed camber la on the rear so best to change to a adjustable one. Recommend use some steel bolt. I ask to see it. Looks like something made in some backyard business but asking for a lot. Crazeeeee la. Slaughter house. The manager there named Marcus is a jerk. Nampak are macam jujur ... ikhlas .... Tipu laaa

Ah Hee Alignment in Sungai Besi
ABS Tayar at corner of genting kelang and sri rampai.

MPS Auto @ Sunway, Highly recommended for alignment and balancing. When I first got my car, went to Lim Tayar TTDI and some shop in DU and paid almost RM200 bill for both but never got it right.

Went over to MPS once and they solve all my alignment & balancing immediately. paid RM180 in total for my E46 with 17" including on-wheel balancing (optional).

Wingzee ... you 200+ lucky dy la ... mine was 300, say must this and that la. Scums!

I usually do mine at kin alignment at Sunway. They r same row as Links. My e34's alignment is still good even after a year and four new tire changes.

Went to Ah Hee Auto (Alignment) for manual alignment in Jln Sungai Besi (9, Batu 3 1/2, Jalan Belerang after Tai Thung school on the direction towards KL, next turn of after Razak Mansion Flat)

Did a good job but not as good as expected but charged the price on par with MPS for alignment. Manual alignment without machine but still charged premium.

So die-hards still believe manual alignment is the best. Ah Hee @ Sg Besi has been around since mid 70s and has built a solid reputation for manual alignment.

Went to lim tayar ttdi a couple of times, very premium pricing, and yes they do make a lot of recommendations on the car...one would wonder does my car have so many issues??? Hhmmmmm

Had bad experience with them and never going there again. Went there twice to do my alignment as they did a lousy job but in the end said need to add camber nut and charging RM90 per side. Terus drive off and went to MPS and they got the job done.

If manual alignment is the same price or slightly more than machine guided, I think it worth it but at RM 120 for alignment only is not value for money.

Although skill is required but it is just partially loosening some nuts to shorten/ entend the lenght or tilting the angle, being charged the premium with minimal investment in capital & rental (the area is an old semi industrial area), this is more to paying for reputation.

Yeah, only die hard fans or severe misalignment problem will go there as I noticed hardly any car there to do alignment although it is a Sat morning.

Exactly. I still don't understand how they would get away thinking drivers would believe a nut costs that much. RM5 is the max I will pay for it.

A case where shops taking advantage of patrons who seek their 'expertise'. And to some owners/drivers who are in the dark, these people are 'expert' in what they do.......

I can live with my car without camber adjustment rather than one day the bloody bolt breaks etc. No need la ...

Went to Ah Hee, Taman Putra Sulaiman to do on wheel balancing and alignment for my E39. The damage is RM70.
