B33mEr,

I have changed mine to coilovers, KW's in fact. This doesn't solve the leftward drift, in fact it got worse after the coilover change. Of course my 18 inch staggered may also have made the situation more pronounced. But having said that, if its regulation that the car pulls to the left for safety reasons, its strange that mine goes in a perfect straight line on flat concrete surfaces e.g. my office car park. It only pulls to the left when i'm on normal roads. Cannot understand why the leftward slope of our roads can have such a large effect. Maybe its normal for rear wheel drive cars with staggered tyres?

Bro, pls refer to this page, where Albundy did his coilover by doing 10mm lower than d left side thus (maybe) eliminating d pull to d left.

Hello all,

This is my opinion on wheel alignment and balancing. The computers doing all the balancing might say that the wheels are 100% perfectly align. Then again when you test it the car stll pull to the left. The only way to solve this in my opinion is to use the old system of alignment using the old british scale alignment machine in alignment specialist shop. One that I know of is Ah Ching Alignment shop in Seremban. This old man has been in the business for so many years. My father goes there every time for every car he had and so am I. Even though he doesnot uses any computer machine to align the wheels but his computer brain and eyes will align the car with no problem and get it straight all the time. On top of that if you are not satisfied, he will do it again for free within 1 week time. With the road conditions in Malaysia you will have to do it every 10,000km. The shop is at Rahang in Seremban. You have to ask round to find where it is.
This is not an advertisement, just my humble solution to help you solve your problem.
Remember sometimes the old ways is better than this computer mumbo jumbo..because it has been proven for many years..Good luck in solving your problem.

Can u give us d full address of this shop in Rahang? It' true sumtimes oldschool way works better.

yes maanly, pls give us the address (direction would be even better)..
I just posted a thread about this subject too but i put it under e36 thread. Still, there is no confirmed w/syop or mudguard shop that could straighten the wheel direction.

it is funny i think that the German purposely make the car run towards the left for safety reason. All i want, is my car travel in straight line, period ! sometimes your shoulder can bcome tired also for having to control the steering (this is alking thru experience man.. haha)

phew ... thank god i'm not alone hehehe. I did my on wheel balancing and alignment at Lim Tayar TTDI and d foreman basically told me d same thing. He has done countless mercedes and bmw's and said dat y d car is slightly pull to d left is due to design by manufacturer's and required by law in germany dat for safety reasons so when travelling straight d car will pull 2 d left to avoid going into d other lane, in case driver pass out or sumthg plus our bmw's are by design is a left hand drive.
One of d solution is to change to coilovers, dat will eliminate d slight left pull. havent tried yet cos got no money hehe.
Could sum one give direction to where dis famous Michelin shop in OKR or pls pm me d direction. I think i need to give dis shop a try, lim's is kinda expensive. cheers.

Wahleow! like that also can.........beh tahan!

I just changed my tyres and currently on Michelin. to my surprise the pulling left issue disappeared even without doing any allignment!!! before the tyre change, i basically adjust and re-adjust my allignment, change bushing etc.....do until all the shopssss gave up.

At the end of the day, shop owners will always tell u

1) ur bush gone! get it checked
2) ur caster lari, get it fixed
3) your tyre got problem, get it changed
4) your tyre is no longer round (hahha i made this up)

All the above might be true, just get a second opinion before u go all out changing everything....it might just be your tyre issue only.

There is one and only tyre shop that gave me the right advice (after 8 years of my driving life kena conned in changing almost everything just to get the allignment right)......he said "if you do not want any pulling left issue, just get a good set of tyre....only 3 brands that will confirm no left pulling. One of the 3 brand is Michelin, the other two i forgotten leow...maybe its those high end bridgestones...

At the end of the day, Replica Rim (balacing issue) and Cheap Tyres (allignment issue) will never perform as you want it to be....save up longer to get those ori rims and good tyres that can make u smile when u clock 110kmh and above

Vobs,
Your comment above are all correct indeed, esp about the tyre issue quality..
Just to share a bit, my e36 also finally STRAIGHT now.. What i did:-
a) chahge the tyre to bridgestone
b) install adjustable camber nut !

I am also surprise that they have this adjustable nut, i thought only for proton/Japs car !
But this guy uses old alignment m/c.. he is experience enuff to suggest to me to put the adjustable nut. He himself is not satisfied after the alignment. So, i agreed, and voila, my car can go straight now!! I am quite satisfied with his experience and workmanship..
The nut price about rm100+ per side..
His w/syop near the paramount,PJ giant (will info the add if needed) because there are few tyre shops there.. But he is only the Machai, not the owner..

WAHHHH ADJUSTABLE NUT????? for FRONT ?????? E46 got ar? Im desperate for it man....my camber need some fixing and adjusting

guys...
if slightly pulling to the left towards roadside drain,
maybe should consider this:
all road is designed with a gradient fo facilitate dispersal of surface run-off water to roadside drain

similar experience here. lived with terrible pulling problem from day 1 after switching to dunlop direzza dz101 on 235/45/17. did balancing and alignment multiple times over the period of one year at the two shops recommended on this thread. problem persisted despite the near 'perfect' readings on the alignment machine. pulling problem solved after switching to falken ze912. i'm fairly certain it's got something to do with tyre design.
