A good initiative by the CMs on ensuring that members are not taken advantage

I'm not calling wingzsee unscrupulous, but I'm just using his post as an example. Borrow ur thread ar wingzee.:wink:I have not seen this anywhere before, but I'm glad that BMWCM is probably the first to implement this. Other forums employ the free market concept with willing seller, willing buyer. But I'm glad BMWCM is going the different route of ensuring that the prices posted in the forum are cheapest anywhere, internet or otherwise. This is a good follow-up move from limiting the Classifieds to only postings by OM, to ensure that OMs do not get conned. Quoted from Herbert on a reply to wingzee on the above thread, 'Your 1st post stated selling price of RM220.00.In your subsequent post, you are going to order another 3 units. I have checked the price and the unit price is listed as USD 27.00 per unit + USD 15.16 (shipping cost for 1 unit). So what this should mean is that OMs can now buy confidently in the Classifieds section knowing that the prices advertised should be lowest or just about there. Of course give and take a little for shipping and effort. So based on the above post, the CMs and Moderators would be checking each item being advertised for sale, search for the lowest pricing online, and compare against the selling price in the classifieds. If there is a profit to be made, the seller should be notified that this is not right and the price reduced to match the cheapest pricing. Its a win-win situation for the club and OMs, by ensuring the members are not being taken advantage and the OMs enjoying cheaper pricing. If they want to make a profit, then they should become an official vendor.As for the official vendor section, I believe our interests as OMs are also taken care off. Ideally, the vendors should post their prices on the page for everyone to see, clearly showing their normal pricing and special OM pricing. This would be a good incentive for CGs to become OMs as they get special pricing on buying stuff for their BMWs.I propose that a clear policy be drawn up to make it clear for everyone, to ensure no dispute or call of selective prosecution. It should be made sticky in the Classified section and also in the Official Vendor Section. But good job to the CMs, on being innovative and ensuring the best for the OMs and Club. :top:

I applaud this move. BMWCOM is always at the forefront and ensures JOYful participation in the forum. So what is the allowable profit margin? Just in case I end up as an OM and want to sell some stuff.

Adding on to this I hope that since I have an idea of how worthless my 1 year old car is then it would be good to ensure that vehicles sold here enJOY the sort of depreciation set by BMW Premium Selection too. This will be a great move so that all forumers are able to own the Ultimate Driving Machine.

Why la bro? The CMs are trying very hard to make it a safe place so that ppl like you and me dont get taken advantage of. Ever since they stopped the CG postings, I feel so safe now browsing the classifieds. No more conmen posting. And now with price control, it's even better. Other forums should take note and follow.

this place is for OMs only. CGs should only view and dont post. So by limiting the classifieds is a good move, so the CGs cannot come and con the OMs. That's why the policy was made. You can always post on mudah and the other available classifieds. If you want to complain, become OM first. We are moving forward, don't be left behind. Join today.

Go file la. As a CG, you are nothing. Just someone using up our bandwidth. I forgot who suggested, but we should lock up the forum for only OM use. Then we don't have CG like you come disturb. Prez, I have nothing against new suggestions & initiatives but it started off with a wrong foot. Wild accusations were made. It should have started off what a proper discussion via PM or privately, instead of making such statements in the public without any sort of reliable proof, all were based solely on a person's judgement & feel. How can lah?

For me I do support the fact that CM is taking matters seriously in protecting the members but it gotta done in a proper manner, instead of what just happened.

been following this issue closely since it erupted? ...well aside from the CAT, first of all assumption should not be made that a particular seller has gotten his goods from the same supplier. and secondly, if CMs felt that overcharging has occurred that seller should've been privately warned beforehand not perform public execution and what not for all to see.

If he made a mistake then alas he should've been given a chance to redeem himself not terus pancung where now its in the open and everyone reading it, what impression do you think the general public will have on that seller? We should all cast aspersions aside and do this in a more professional way. Furthermore said seller paid for his registration and membership and have abide by the rules generally. If seller is making a huge margin and profit, warn him la privately. Not terus bang...I doubt this seller is a profiteer.

On another note, why don't CMs state if any the amount of % that a seller (official or not) can markup on any GBs to cover their cost/blood/sweat/effort/petrol? At least by doing so, many would know. 5% / 10% maybe? Furthermore have heard that many GBs buyers delay in securing the items hence seller has to stomach the cost for a little longer than usual. Even a small amount is an amount nonetheless...driving a bimmer doesn't mean one has mega bucks...

If its a guest posting then maybe perhaps we can be sterner...

That is a great idea. Then everyone must show proof of cost and add on a mere 20% for profit la ... All cars sold must come with a BMW Premium Selection valuation too to show transparency and accountability.
