yaa im going this weekend maybe. i think we will enjoy driving the d modelkelvinp said:Redza are you going for a test drive anytime soon? I'm planning to test too so maybe can tag along..
RedzaRed said:yeap i want the f10, im using e90 petrol now. so it would be okay la if i choose 520d rather than 520i? because i always travel for a long distance every week n need an efficient car n also quiet at high speed cruising.. so u said that the car is quiet at speed above 100, i think im going to buy the d model thx btw
wow lucky u can get that kind of test drive haha. im impressive with the mileage for a single tank! thanxx for the information. btw, i'd already booked the 520d hehehehe facelift model.badrul880 said:Another thing, my 520d does 800-900km per full tank town driving with everyday traffic congestion and at least 1100 kms on long drives. So I fill up only once a month which is a plus point and I have driven from Damansara to Rantau Abang and back with a notch of diesel to spare. I was in your shoes 2.5 years back (driving an E90 325i) when Roland Oii from Quill introduced me to the 520d but I was skeptical due to the clatter. Then he did the unthinkable and loaned me a 520d for the whole weekend with a full tank. He told me to try finish up the tank in 2 days and return the car to him no questions asked. Well after testing the car to Genting etc, I gave him back the loaner car and signed the dotted line and it was the best decision ever made.
RedzaRed said:thanxx mavik! im pretty sure about that haha because i test drove the car for many times n just now, it impressed me a lot n straight away booking the car. im joining the d family~
yeah thx. im really impressed with the torque delivery on low rpm. its a really powerfull car yet efficient. maybe next week they will deliver it to me. i cant wait to enjoy the torque haha. U're right, at outside maybe u can hear the sound but inside the car is quiet n my friend said that bhp diesel is good n smoother. u should try itteighlour said:Bro, congrats on your choice of diesel power. I am also an owner of the 520d pre-LCI and have owned it for 5 months now. Love the power, love the fuel efficiency. No problem with the car so far. Screw what other people think if our car is a lorry or truck. Once you are in the car, you dont feel and hear anything. I dont normally stick to any fueling station but mostly go to Petronas or sometimes Shell or Petron. Will try BHP next time.

Hai.. welcome to bmwClub Malaysia. i am one of 520d LCi owner. Just got my car last month n it was a fantastic car so far. the fuel consumption really impressive. in a single full tank, i can go up to 1200km then baru isi minyak. The lCi model has better fuel consumption due to its shorter gear range and also performance is increased compare to the pre-LCI. The interior n exterior design also looks nicer that pre-LCI model. It has digital instrument panel and it changes accordung to what driving mode you're choosing. The service cost im not sure because my car still new n not yet time for service. So far, it was a good car. The suspension of the LCI model gets minor changes n it is tuned to reduced the body roll while cornering. no jerkiness problem for my car so far. before this im using bmw 3 series n bmw service is actually cheaper than my mitsubishi and volkswagen, quite surprising haha. Thats all i can share with u about my car. heheYours Faithfully (YF) said:Hi to all BeeMer experts,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Danny and I am pretty new to this BMW Malaysia club forum. Hence, if salah cakap, my sincerest apologies. I have been driving the current Hyundai Sonata 2.4 without any problems whatsoever. Since my wife needs a car now, I decided to pass on my trustee ride to her and in the midst of deciding for a new ride.
I have been debating with myself for a month on whether I should take the leap of faith to buy a BMW as I have heard many stories of expensive maintenance, unreliable service centers, etc. I am considering the 520d due to the joys of having the powerful torque at my disposal. Can anyone provide their wise wisdom on the following questions :
1. Is pre LCI or LCI better? What makes it better? My home minister insisted on the LCI but wanted to know which is better.
2. Is this problem with the jerkiness of the 520d common?
3. How much is the regular service going to cost me?
4. Any problems with the 520d?
5. I heard of a plug and play system for remapping chip that boost up the torque and hp even higher. Anyone has experience with this and how much does it cost?
6. What is the best discount so far for a 2014 520d LCI unit? Best I got was RM258k for a pre-registered unit but it wasn't a LCI unit.
Would be honored to hear from all of you. Ex 520d or current or even new owners are welcome. Thank you in advance ya. Hoping to be part of the d family.
hi, no problem.. The mileage is a combination of highway driving and city. Not fully on eco pro mode, sometimes sport and comfort. driving speed about 140-150km/h consistent. About the suspension, when i driving the car through corners, the car feels very solid and the body roll is very little compare to the test drive car which is pre-LCi then i check in the internet, i read about that and its true, the new LCI has a little bit changes on the suspension The LED hedlight of the really catching my eyes !! Yeap u dont miss anything about it. n one more thing, the adaptive LED is very helpful when travelling on 2 ways country road with no road lamp. the lamp adjust by itself and straight away go to high beam when there is no car infront. If the camera detect the car from opposite road, the light will split n become a tunnel and follow the car so that it will not glare the drivers. Cool isn't it? haha. Even the car has no integral, it is very easy because The LCI model, the electric power steering has been tuned for more responsive handling compare to the pre-LCI. So, when parking no need to turn so much and dont worry about that, the steering is very light when parkingYours Faithfully (YF) said:Hi Redza,
Thanks for your input. 1200km on a full tank? Very impressive. Was it Highway driving only on eco pro?
Your comment on the reduce body roll on the lci version was based on your experience driving the pre lci or salesman told you?
I am aware of the adaptive LED, speedo changing with the modes selected, LED tail lamps, mouse with hand writing recognition... anything I missed out?
Was parking easy since the intergral steering has been omitted from the lci version?
Sorry for the many questions, still thinking hard as I never own a continental ride before. Cheers.
