The Cooper S is pretty much a BMW ;)
Take one for a test drive, you will be suprised.
It feels as fast if not faster than the M3 Evo thanks to its twinscroll turbo, its practically always on boost and handles like its on rails :top:

ok fine, for the sake of comparison ill try to test drive one before official TT this friday :top: but i've always felt that minis are for chicks la bro, always laugh when i see some dude with shades on trying to look cool driving a mini...

If you feel that way, do consider E39. If E38, at your young age I dont want to be the one laughing at you and thinking "Driving his father's car ..."

haha E39 is my all-time fav beemer bro :top: yeah you hit the nail on the head there, an 18 year old would look ridiculous behind the wheel of an E38...

Even with the E39 you will get comments like that.
I must say I am a little upset that you think I drive a chicks car.

Oh common....Coop S's a chick's car...who you kiddin bro?....lol

Throw one round a corner while it's on boost and tell me if you cling on to your dear balls....no really

Ask me how i know :p

If you'd ask my opinion, i'd have the E39 as a daily drive and the Coops S for weekend fun fac :)

see here's the problem, MOST mini drivers in this country are either a) young hot chicks who went for the car for nothing other than its looks/chic factor or b) young punks with more hair gel than driving skill

both group a) and b) created this negative impression i have toward minis, but group a) which i think outnumbers group b) is the reason i say its a chicks car...here's a suggestion bro, next TT/event ill sit in the passenger seat and you can convince me otherwise :top:

my friend's dad had a first gen cooper S, i must admit it felt like the car was glued to the road and when he dropped gear and stepped on it i was thrown back (in the back seat)...ok now i really have to test drive the car or i dont have the right to keep talking

yo yo yo....please rest assure that as in here....sensitivities awareness bout other forumers must be considered heavily..especially if judgement only by oneself obswevation...bare in mind that those in here have the passion bout their udm's...want a self satisfaction...my 2 cents...join me with my beloved kahuna...e60 530 m sport...cheers...

Vish,

A lot of things can happen and will happen in 4 years.

Concentrate on your studies first, cars come in when you make your own $$ :)

That being said, if you got the opportunity, get the real deal. E92 M3 should be affordable in the UK when you graduate :)

Good luck.

Cheers

just sharing my opinion bro, didnt intend to offend anyone...sorry if i did guys

still, i think its sacrilegious to refer to minis as UDMs...the only UDM is Bayerische Motoren Werke, like your 530 m sport :top:

true, i shouldnt rush a decision like this...E92 M3? :hmmmm: for me the real deal is E39 M5 bro bundy, just like how most of you sifus grew up worshiping the E30 M3, i grew up dreaming of the day when I would own an E39 M5 :top:

E39 M5 is a wonderful car, but you may some problems bringing it back home, more so by the time you finished your studies the car should be at least 10-12 years old. And with the shipping and taxes and etc, you may find the E39 M5 back home to be equally affordable in 4 years time :)

Cheers

haha, yes the stereotype is a chick or gay car. IMO it only applies to the just-a-cooper though as that is the version they usually buy.

sorry, can't give you a ride as the car is in Australia. waiting for my brother to bring it back on student ap.

if you like the sc'ed first gen wait till u get a ride in the current turbo one. its much faster though it has lost abit of the raw edge.

true, prices could even out...but i think it will still be pricier here bro bundy, due to its rarity
